For those who didn't follow my old diary - that might have been your first experience of the stressing Rising.... I do tend to get a bit errr obsessive / stressed when I'm tired / not well etc ......
Bins away - it actually wasn't mine blowing around - they're literally everywhere with it having been bin day  .... bath had, hair washed & bed changed ..... dinner time I think!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Good news ....
A little bit of good news on the budgeting front- I'd managed to start the Fuel pot last month (having a smaller than usual c/card bill as I haven't used the car for nearly 10 weeks - and also by whalloping up the OD:o) - anyway, I'd put away £95 to it last month
So .... I've only needed to put away £35 this month :T
So ... that's the fuel put sitting at it's proper amount of £130 :T .... yay - another pot set up!:j Let just hope I can keep it up!:o
Also started the new Others pot this month ..... *sigh* - really need to get this one off the ground next year!!
Haven't paid to the Bills account yet ... just can't bear the thought of being OD the same day that my pay's gone in .... especially as it's over 5 weeks until next pay day :eek:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Good going on getting the fuel pot started Rising! :T
It does take time to get them up and running but when you do and you get used to them, it makes life so much easier!
It has taken me quite a while to get my pots up and running with a good total in them, when I 1st started mine I used to come to the middle of the month and then dip into the money I was supposed to be saving!
I don't miss the money I put away now, so find it easier to save and I have got used to taking the money out only when it is needed. ie needed new front windscreen wipers for my car this week, paid on my CC, as had no cash/ debit card with me, then transfered the money from my car account to pay it off.

I used to do that the last time I tried putting money asidebut I did try to do it all in one account and didn't really keep track of what was for what thing:o - and then as it was a fairly big amount quite quickly .... I raided
:o
I find having it split up is working better and I've managed to cut down on the number of accounts (I was up to 12 and needed more ) and now have a really simply spreadsheet to keep track of what's in each one eg
House & Car
I think I tried to do too many last year (had to re-sort the pets one out as got the new dog ..... started the House & Car one & was overpaying massively to get them up and running and tried to do the Others one too )
Fingers crossed, I'm getting there!:TGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Hopefully .... once I get the Fuel one settled in and the Others one up and running properly ... I can start on Groceries!:rotfl::eek:
I really need to cut down on these ..... not quite sure how but there you go!
Any underspends will be getting put away into the empty pot!
I did actually end up transferring the House & Car money into my main account last month - really to cut down on the interest charged on the OD. I did transfer it straight back when I saw my pay was in & before I did any money moving so I didn't lose track of it!
I may well do that again this month as it's quite a big chunk and cuts the interest costs a fair bit :TGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Actually think I'll post them all up like this as it's easier to read than the lists I used to do!
Pets
Cats have a fair bit to come off that - big cat's booster was £53  .... he was wormed as well but she must've given him the most expensive one ever as it was £10 :eek: (seriously NOT impressed!) and have also done a bit of supply stocking up but not had c/card bill yet so ....
Maisie's budget looks like it's recovering a bit :T *phew* as we had a lot of unplanned for expenditure on her side earlier in the year!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

well done on the pots
glad you've managed to have the scan done
was just thinking with you saying one of your testments is a chemo that that could account for your tiredness too0 -
Morning Rising,
Loving the pots, I hadn't thought of doing them like that before. I was thinking of 'pots' as individual accounts rather than one account for various things and another account to other things etc.
Glad you managed to go for your scan yesterday.
Hope you don't feel too tired this morning and managed to get some decent sleep.0
