  • Brrrrrrrr it's really not nice out there!

As suspected, nothing obvious blowing around my garden so must be someone else's which is rather annoying as there's nothing I can do about it and she'll just bark ...... she's just had a barking fit outside just now as something clattered :( *sigh* might be a long night! (I never sleep when there's stuff flying around outside either :o)

Night all ...... hope you have a relatively calm night! (and no more snow!!!)

  • So .... today's getting off to a slow start!

Had a bit of a lie in (nearly made it to 8am:)) and then had horrible frozen bread for breakfast (ran out of crumpets & forgot to get some yesterday - bread has been in the freezer far too long and was horrid:()

Then I discovered the tennis final is on TV so ....... think it'll be a bit of a lazy start to the day which I watch that!

Have sneezed a lot this morning  have been feeling a bit croaky the past couple of mornings (and meant to go to the big B00ts yesterday but forgot :o - it seems to disappear once I've been up a couple of hours so fingers crossed!

Ohhhhh and following on from the practical Christmas present (money towards the TD when the old one died) .... my birthday seems to be heading the same way with some early money towards the winter tyres :T

  • Morning Rising,

Everyone in our house is watching the Tennis too, so you are not on your own with a lazy start. Thats what Sundays are for;).

Bad news about the breakfast, yuck, sounded bad.

Hope you shake off the croaky throat etc. I often have the start of something and I seem to fight it off. I think its our immune system battling the bug away.

    Enjoy the tennis xx

I can see me a) either having to leave it or b) ending up taking Maisie out really late!:o

I think it'll have to be a) at some point unfortunately ......

Haven't got a lot done this morning as I have literally been watching it all the time

    • I've hoovered downstairs - and Maisie hid as usual :( - I know she's never going to like it but if I could just get her to be not absolutely terrified
    • put a load of washing in - but it's only 1/2 filled the machine so think I'll hang off until today's clothes can go in (when I go for my bath later on)
    • made my muffins - in my new muffin tin :j (love it!) - they're getting better so think I may even take some to work tomorrow!
    • sat and unpicked my hair from the turbo brush on the Dy*son - one of the downsides of long hair and turbo brushes :p
    And that's it

Still need to tidy upstairs and iron .... take Maisie to the beach & pop to Mr T for a few essentials!

And do next weeks' meal plan .... and find something for dinner! (was supposed to be LO day from yesterday but didn't end up having that as I wasn't hungry after the McDs!)

Ohhhh and we've got torrential rain bursts every now & then .... fingers crossed I'm out when it's fine!

  • Haha - neither would I!

BUT .... I have to admit, it's not something I would like to do (I hate flying for starters!) - a couple of weeks here .. a couple of weeks there & they're hardly ever at home for any length of time .... hard work! (but very well rewarded!)

So ... I obviously spoke too soon earlier - honestly, I didn't jinx it :o

Maisie and I had a lovely walk on the "big" beach (the best but furthest away one!) - decided I better get a few walks in while I can as it gets far too busy to go in the summer so I tend to avoid it then!

She was even in the sea ... with waves coming towards her!:T She's getting there! (she does still run when big ones come)

Managed to only spend £14 in Mr T :T that's a big improvement for me and I did only get stuff on my list :j - I'm trying to get a baking store cupboard up and running so am getting a couple of bits each week - this week it was icing sugar and cooking chocolate.

Does anyone know if you can use hot chocolate powder instead of coco? - the latter is hugely expensive

Then I seem to have had a bit of a snooze again :o since we got back ..... feel much better now but I've still got the ironing to do:eek: and a wash to put on (once I've been in the bath and can add what I've got on to it to make a full load :money:)

Have put a corned beef hash in for dinner - I really shouldn't have it (red meat) but TBH I'm absolutely pig sick of chicken, turkey & fish :o and I just really needed something else for a change!

I'm really struggling with next weeks' meal plan as I just can't face putting the same thing down again and again and again!:o

Right - off for a bath while it's in the oven and then will iron (urgh!) - hopefully there will be enough left for tomorrow night to save cooking then!

Personally I'd never substitute drinking chocolate for cocoa as drinking chocolate has other added ingredients including sugar (just taste a little of each and see the difference). You also need such a small amount of cocoa as it's very strong.

I suppose it all boils down to personal taste.

Thanks Stitchy :D funnily enough that's what my gut instinct was saying but just needed it confirmed!:o

I'll put the coco on the list in a week I don't need a lot else!;)
