    LOL!

Presumably the cluster fk that was Nationalisation, 168% tax rate, the IMF bail out and the Winter of Discontent was Thatchers fault too.

    Idiot.
Thatcher then came in and divided the country, devastated the NHS, starved the schools budgets, miners strike, poll tax, deregulated the city etc. The 'idiot' depends on where you come from and what you stand for;)
  • 2 years ... 2 years .... Labour took 10 to ruin the country, and its going to take the cons 10 years to put it right.

Im fed up of Labour NOT taking responsibility for the state they left us in.

18 years 18 years - it took Margaret Thatcher & the Tories to reduce our country to a pile of rubble and turn Britain into a Third World country.....that's what Labour inherited in 1998....

    Really?
What about him forecasting in 2010 that unemployment to surge to 5 million? When it actually peaked at 2.5million when he made the prediction?

Because the country was looking rosey before Margret Thatcher got in power?

And really, you cannt blame the current state of the economy on a Prime Minister in power over 20 years ago. Labour were in power for 13 years. If they couldnt make all the amendments they needed to in that time to then they are obviously incompetent.

  • It's funny how thatcher so divides, maybe its because she changed the face of British industry/infrastructure and the argument is for better or worse. It's interesting that in France the argument has come round to Maggie as many are asking why their economy is in such a mess and commentators over there say France has never had a revolution where the unions, employment law and public sector were put in there place. They actually wish it had happened.

So many think we are in a financial mess, but seriously if you lived in France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy, France or Ireland you really would be in trouble.

They will borrow more, and oppose any tax rises. What could possibly go wrong?

    Ahem...

Or they will stimulate growth, create tax income and reduce the debt....

Are you finding it so hard to believe that there is more than one poster who doesn't agree with the government's policies?? Take a look at the opinion polls.

PS - it would be really sad if you turn this thread personal and into a mud slinging fest. It would be nice if you could keep to the issues? However, If you start chucking insults at me I will take it that you have run out of decent arguments and skedaddle....better things to do with my life and all that...

Your use of "sane" is based purely on your opinion.

And it would be very difficult to even get close to calling your extreme opinions, where you back labour up to the hilt regardless of what they do or don't do, anything close to "sane"!

Sadly, when the triple dip is confirmed, all this "it's all the tories fault, labour would have sorted us out" will only get more and more vocal. Hopefully, labour will then win the election and let down their voters.....of course, it will be someone elses fault.
