Thats a good point. I shall check the batteries to make sure they arent junk.

Good rechargeable AA and AAA batteries store more power than non rechargeable ones. They also give a more constant current. Use only so called Low Self Discharge cells, the ordinary ones are rubbish as they lose ~0.5% a day of the stored charge. Sony Eneloop and Panasonic Infinium are two good makes.

Alot of rechargeable batts are only 1.2v where as a normal batt is 1.5v, which is why the MI for room stats tell you not to use rechargeable batts

    Don't be so nasty.

I don't think he was being nasty, just direct. There are lots of trades here, and most are very helpful. :)

In fact the more I read about these wireless thermostats im struggling to see the point.Microwaves can interfere with them, Wifi interferes with them, batteries can run out. Apart from the fact they look a bit tidier than a wired stat I can't see any great advantage.
  • I've started fitting Delta Dore, so far so good.
Massive range and linked in the factory so can't be interferred with.
I've even temporarily placed one in the boiler body whilst I did some other work and it still worked. I placed it in a tin box and left the lid off and it still connected, good price too. Has a handy check button just in case its been connected back to front.

    SCrgi you nasty man! :rotfl:
