I would also have concerns about the buyer dictating the delivery method, would you be happy using Fedex?

if you have decided to withdraw from the sale then I suggest you refund the money immediately, if you wait until tomorrow you will just have a disgruntled buyer (assuming he is genuine). You will achieve nothing by talking to paypal tomorrow, they will stand by their claim that they are a safe and secure online payment method and probably remind you that it is your duty to post the phone immediately. They aren't going to suggest for one moment that it isn't safe and you'll just have delayed the refund, and annoyed your buyer by waiting.

    Its O.K Lucy

The benefit he would gain from it is he will be paying by a stolen credit card or false credit details so he would gain the phone and would not cost him a penny. You would have lost the phone and even though the money will go in your account you would end up for a bill in the next few months for that amount which would be terrible for you. I'm just glad we have spotted this before you sent the phone. 1 up for the savers and another potential scam avoided. If he is a genuine buyer then he will always get another phone, its no real loss to him but your loss will be great so its better to be safe than sorry.

this has got dodgy written all over it.
If the seller posts that phone I would have no doubts in saying she will be £400 or so down and phoneless.
You would need to be a lunatic to send that phone to the phillipines.

Oh, and isnt the Uncle so kind.......

Just spoken to Paypal - they did say it's dodgy (don't seem to be doing anything about it though?!), so I'm sending him a refund - just wanted to make sure too I wouldn't still incur paypal charges for refunding him, which I won't.

What a palava. It might be an obvious thing if you're used to dealing on Ebay, but although it seemed dodgy, I can see how people do get conned.

The phone's going back to Vodaphone - it was a £35 pm contract in it's cooling off period, I've not got the nerve to try sellin it again! So we just need to find another deal now (max talk time for cheapest price!). Tried Virgin as we're with them, but not so hot so calling into Vodaphone shop this aft to see what's on offer.

Husband needs mobile urgently to get a number to put on business cards before he can get cracking, so it's inconvenienced us lots, but not as much as losing £435 and being stuck paying £35 pm for 18months!!!
