Thank you MEm, my diary has been the one tool that has really helped me along with this. I don't really chat to real people about money although some close freinds know we are doing this they do not realise the extent of it. It is difficult to catch up with folk sometimes and i would hate them to think money was the reason we don't manage to see them. Our socialising is very important to us

This month i am trying something new by taking out cash on a friday and putting it into envelopes to try and budget better. I had taken out £200 yesterday ( for petrol, dance class, massage, shopping and snail race fundraiser) but left it in the car when at the fundraiser as did not want to have that much in my purse. Came home last night and was carrying 2 bags and clutching the pile of money, OH thought it was my winnings! eh no, only won £3.80 :rotfl:

Farmers market today, then massage and meal out at freinds house, should be good.

food shopping came under budget and had bought loads of veg so spent today cooking soup and cottage pie to freeze, i am full time this week so will be good to have meals ready. great night at freind's last night, wee bit too much to drink, so did not do much today.

OH has continued to clear garden and demolished a large herb planter which was taking up heaps of space - the garden now looks huge. Have started drawing up plans for some covered space for a barbeque area - might have to give up my dreams of a greenhouse.

Didn't get massage yesterday as therapist was running 25 mins late and i had planned to meet up with OH for my free john lewis coffee - so that saved another £30, will probably try to book later this month.

thank you both, i have just realised that we have paid 10k since August - wow! nearly 10% gone already :j

Got the cheque from the other isa today, and hope to have some left after paying holiday, car mot and garden.

working fulltime is a pain - i hate the commute at busy times and not organised for packed lunches or teas. just another 2 days to go and the extra cash will be handy.

Dance class tonight and no one fancied the pub afterwards so saved a tenner from the budget.

the nice weather we were promised didn't happen, although Mr P managed to dig up a bit of the garden, we are doing small bits at a time. Have had a few ideas to increase storage space and build a covered area for bins and another bit for barbque area. all on a budget of course! we treated ourselves to breakfast egg roll in farm shop. and then crab which made a great sandwich and soup. lovely long walk on the beach yesterday evening.

It is our wedding anniversary on tuesday - no vegas renewal of vows with elvis this year sadly. Instead i ordered Mr P a box set of george gently to watch as we came across that last week and really enjoyed it, so have been madly watching it since friday. Martin Shaw has aged well, i used to lust after him as a teenager.

Going to see parents for tea tonight,(steak pie, mmm) swim this morning and Mr P has taken up cricket so will get peace to read papers this afternoon.

happy wedding anniversary to us :j 26 years - sadly no day off today, we are usually on holiday this week, but Mr P has none to take. So have instructed him to book a meal in fine restuarant tonight and take the credit card out for once...

Got another 2 hours overtime yesterday. :T And keep trying to switch the heating off, but other folk keep switching it back on :o
