OOO crab and lobster - lovely!
I've been dying to try these Aldi lobsters that everyone keeps raving about, but my nearest aldi is 20 miles away!M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -
I love lobster, but no one else in the house will eat it. so shared them with my dad. tasted better cos they were free. OH workmate sorted our oven for us as he used to be an electrican but would not take any money from us, he had a sofa he was donating to another workmate so we moved for him last night in our trailer - everyone happy, think we should set up a club bartering our services round here...
The kitchen is getting a mixed reaction - mostly positive, but a pal arrived the other day after her night out - she was slightly tipsy (absolutely blootered to other Scots) and announced it was disgusting :rotfl: Have now ordered the vintage signs to finish it off - slightly less money to overpay, but life is a balance.
Feeling a bit overcrowded in the house now DD is back - time these kids were thinking about moving out?. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

was starting to worry about money as have a christening, my dad's 65 th birthday and son's birthday this coming week, and that MOT bill was unbudgeted for (plus bits for the kitchen) ...but got an email from Topcashback to say a missing claim i had lodged in may has finally been paid, and when i logged on to claim it there is another 70 quid there for taking out life insurance in July :j So £109 due just in time for all those presents - I love free money. :j:j

I know - it's amazing how money seems to come along at the right time sometimes. I had given up all hope of getting that missing claim back.

got son's rent money, but have kept most of it back as have started christmas shopping. Went late night shopping on thursday as OH needed new trousers for work, and found 2 biscuit tins in Debenhams - one shaped like a vintage radio and one like a mini juke box, 20% off and perfect for diner kitchen. Plus we now have loads of biscuits to eat :T
Also got christening gift for nephew, birthday pressie for dad, just son to get for now.
It's going to be tight, but i have some money in our special occasion account that i can transfer over to current account if needed. was hoping not to touch it, but if need be it's there. Car is fueled up and plenty food in freezer, got 3 workmates coming for tea tonight and managed to get some fizzy drink stuff quite cheap with daughter's discount. So overpaid £75 today, sadly that does not even cover the interest due since i last overpaid.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

Not to worry - you've done a great job so far!
We can't all make humongous (sp?) overpayments but you'll chip away at it none the less.
The biscuit tins - What a find!M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -
yeah, the biscuit tins look great pinned up on the wall, so far, everyone who has seen the kitchen says they like it - maybe i have just got polite freinds!
Double staff discount at asda today - both kids work there, but only one lot of discount sadly..20% off, although it is confusing to work out what is discounted and what is not. Managed to spend £200, but that bought a load for kids, OH, new decorations and son's birthday so that's pretty good.
Daughter was contacted by orthopaedic department today - despite being referred in august she cannot be seen till march in this health board so they are looking at trying to get her seen elsewhere in scotland. She is due to go away again in March and so really needs to be seen, operated on and recovered before then. Her leg is painful at times and her last mri was in july, so hope the tumour is still benign at this stage. Beginning to wish she had been operated on in spain - we thought she would be better being done here at home . mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k
