I bought mine from Amazon - I think the brand is 'Home Health' and you can get 15 tests for £2.80 :money: I always got on fine with them - when I wasn't pregnant it was a stark white space and when I was pregnant there was a very faint second line.

I did what a few others have suggested - when the second line showed up I took a (more expensive) digital test to confirm.

If I'd used expensive tests all the time we'd been trying I would have wasted £100s!! (or maybe I would have tested a bit less.....)

I bought cheap ones on ebay which worked just fine. Then a digital one just to double check.

Being honest - I've only ever used a digi when I've had a positive (or squinty-is it a positive) on a cheap stick... always felt a bit decadent peeing on one otherwise (and 6 years of trying for number 1 means I've spent a LOT on the infernal things over the years).

Tescos own brand were my general weapon of choice, with a nice digital to clarify things with a whacking big PREGNANT when I'd got two lines and needed it setting down in writing... then photographed for future confirmation when the result had faded and I wasn't sure if my mind had made it up or not.

I bought the cheapo bulk buy ones from Amazon on occasion as well - but found that, since I had like 20 of them in - the temptation to USE 20 of them "just in case" was ridiculous!

  • my last 3 pregnancies i used cheapo pound shop ones and all showed up positive, clear as day after me being only one day late.
    Skint, but happy (ish):p
  • You can get about 30 for £3 off ebay, inclusive of post and packaging.

The 10miu (or whatever the measurement is, just look for the 10) are the most sensitive and will pick up a pregnancy anything up to 3 days before period is due, but just test on day you are due.

They were the ones I used. When I got my first positive, I used the other test the next day to double check. I now have a 2 week old so they were definitely accurate. :p
Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug). ;)
