Dh finally put his savings aside for this month give us another £300 to add to Marchs' total (he gets paid at the end of the month!) which takes Marchs total to £600 too - so for three months in a row we have beaten our anticipated monthly goal........and to top it off we've dropped our monthly mortgage outgoing by £6 - every little helps right!

Overpaid by £1K this month. This is £500 extra due to an error when moving bank accounts. Ahh well, it's all to the good. And according to a quick calculation that extra payment should end this mortgage 2 months earlier than planned.
Mortgage now £98.3k, so that's approx £5K cleared in total since the beginning of December.

    Evening All

I have been playing around with some sums to find out if my daily interest has improved ...

From £12.38 down to £11.85! WOOT

But my standard monthly OP starts at £100, which doesn't even pay for that month's interest on the mortgage.. ARGGHHHH :mad::mad:

That bit of info is just sooo despairing, why do we bother ... :(

Its not about covering the interest, its about tackling the loan which in itself means you pay less interest.
So far this year I have saved myself over £500 in interest by my OPs :)

Another OP of £245 which has taken another month off my end date :j

    Total OPs so far £2260/£6000 - 38%

Only another £200 to take me out of the £40ks into the £30ks :T
