Thanks guys, it's fab to know that we have been in our house for almost 8 years and that it is so very nearly ours. I started overpaying £104 per month in January 2006. Why £104? We were told there was a 4% charge on any overpayment we made. Imagine our delight when the statement arrived that April to find no interest charges for the OP's. That was when we ramped up the payments and every spare penny went towards the mortgage.
I'm working on Thursday night so will pay it off when I get home from work. Also working Friday night but think we'll celebrate by buying a new back gate on Saturday and going to our favourite restaurant for a lovely Indian on Saturday evening.
Then on payday in April, I think I'll be booking a holiday for the summer. I desperately need a new car and it's looking more financially sound to buy brand new. After that, we hit the savings really hard to save a deposit for our next house purchase and see about becoming landlords :)

    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.

So whilst I was hoovering upstairs, my annual mortgage statement landed on the mat. I thought it might be the redemption figure. At the end of the statement it had a figure for 31st March. I text DH about that and something else and he asked when I was paying it. I wondered if they may know the figure by now so I rang again.
I have just paid off the final £889 + something pence of our mortgage.
    :D so happy it ain't true :D

No 107. Matt reporting in for April. I've been able to have 2 OP's paid in the last 2 days, so I'm here with £1,117.14.

Hopefully I will be able to add a little to it later in the month but I'm not expecting anything.

    Fantastic work everyone!
