  • Firstly well done LavenderBees on finally becoming mortgage-free. Bet it feels amazing - and hopefully it is YOUR mortgage you've paid (but if not yours, please let it be mine lol!)

KBL, Black Taxi's right, stay with it - you will get there, having a plan is half the battle.

#111 with overpayment of £125 - think I too am going to miss my target this year, but on the plus side, I've made a big dent in it...... I won't adjust it down yet, still a month to go and most of kids' Xmas gifts sorted so who knows? Might get a last minute extra payment in next month!

  • No 100 here have been spending too much money decorating the house so am falling behind, don't think I'll make my yearly target but will leave it as it stands at the moment.

Made a small overpayment today for £250 please can you update me, thanks x
  • Congratulations LavenderBees - that must feel wonderful.

Paydays been and gone, so it's another £1000 OP for me. We're only £100 off having paid off 25% (or will be after this months normal payment has gone out), so I think I'm going to have to sneak it out of a savings account, so that I can celebrate (25% down in 2.5 years seems like a good reason to me).

Sorry, m'Dear! It is my mortgage I've paid off - my mortgage account is closed and shows zero amount owing...oh the joy! :T

I sincerely hope you all know this feeling sooner rather than later

Thanks BlackTaxi, at minute it feels like an uphill struggle, where the hills a sheet of ice and you're wearing slippers!! being on mse helps, and I know I will get there, just have to get back to work first!!

I feel for you, I really do, but as others have said, chin up, make a plan you feel you can achieve, and make a start. Slowly but surely you'll turn this around. Whether you can afford to overpay or not at the moment, stick with us. Just to help keep you motivated....

Another month draws to a close. So another end of month update.

Time to face the music, pawlala, Marie27lol, slowlyfading, Kerfuffle, Needhelpsaving, elliejay, kitjos, PaddyPaws, Caeraugirl, mortgage destroyer, rockabelle, froddington, QB Wolf and Poppycat1 all have ops added for October.

Some early November ops from Sundaysgirl, ecoelle, kirstypark, theyorkbrood.

and of course LavenderBees. Sorry but becoming MF then saying you've failed to reach your target is unacceptable :D . I've amended your target to £5714 since you won't be making any further ops.

Year to date currently at just over £860,000 so I doubt we'll make it to a million. But then there may be a few saving the big ops for the end of the year.

Sorry I've been rubbish at updating too. Had some unexpected expenditure this year so I'll do some maths over the weekend and update where we are.
