Pretty unlikely - unless you noticed it in your basket and explicitly removed it.

Yes I did uncheck the box & removed the geek squad rubbish from my basket thanks. I had no idea how stupid my original post had made me appear. I may be clueless about contracts from indies but that's about it.

That's all I need to know so I won't be posting again. Thanks to those that helped.
  • Why would you not insure your phone? Geek Squad are the highest rated mobile phone insurer out there AFAIK, i've been with a few different companies over the years and usually have nothing but headaches with broken phones. Had geek squad on the last few upgrades and both the times i've broken it i went into my local shop, paid my excess and had a new phone within 3 days. Pretty happy with them actually, they usually have me well sorted out so i'm happy enough paying £15 a month just to know if i break my £500 piece of glass n plastic i get a new one lol.

£180 p.a. to have broken phones replaced?!

Square Trade 3-year extended warranty with accident protection for £500-£600 devices costs just £90.

"highest rated mobile phone insurer" sounds like spam to me. Rated by whom?

Sounds like your a bit clumsy so you probably need mobile phone insurance.

I have had mobile phones since they first came out and have never managed to damage/ lose one so you can imagine how much money I would have wasted if I bothered with insurance.

I use Geek Squad too. It's rated 5* by DEFAQTO but I doubt that makes it 'the highest rated'.

You tend to get what you pay for with insurance and I've certainly found them to be very fair (bordering on lenient) when making a claim decision. The replacement was perfect and was delivered promptly. Value for money? Not for everyone, but for idiots like me who tend to lose and drop things it's worth paying for.
