    What should happen is, you get the supply installed without a meter from the local electric network. Then you contact a supplier for registration and a d0238 is raised for an mpan. Once this is done a meter should then be done not before.

    If any of these steps are missed you get what you have now.
    Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    I understand things can go wrong and get delayed. What I can't understand is why a big energy supply company can't get a problem sorted and blame the customer for their own incompetence.

    I received an email yesterday and SP say it's not appropriate to discuss the matter because of the EO investigation which I respect. Then they go on to tell me that my monthly payment isn't enough and to get in touch to discuss a payment plan. This is the laughable bit because as mentioned above they have offered two plans in the last three months, both of which I accepted and both have been withdrawn. The most annoying part is the wall of silence when I try to find out "why."

    I would have thought if the Ombudsmn is investigating the complaint any debt collections action, need for you to discuss the dispute with the supplier etc would normally be suspended pending the Ombudsmans finding. If this hasn't been the case have you queried it with suplier / Ombudsman?
