    I proved rightly so earlier...
Don't know why you're posting, you seem quite capable of finding out without any help.

In hindsight of course I admit I could have probably found out the info myself. I just didn't understand why it was happening like it was.

Once I was pointed in the right direction I was able to therefor look up the information myself.

You say you don't know why posted, the same could be said about your post.

    /thread.

The big difference between our posts was that yours asked for help/advice and then "proved" our answers "wrong". Mine was just based on my knowledge of the Sky contract which I have here in front of me.

From the Sky contract booklet (page 11)
"If you want to end the contract....you may do so at the end of or after the minimum term by giving at least 31 days notice"

    So as I said,
I already know what in says in the T&Cs
    :p

To be fair to Nux you've misinterpreted what that quoted sentence means.

"If you want to end the contract...you may do so at the end of the minimum term by giving at least 31 days notice."

Thus you can call up 31 days before you 12 months end, and request cancellation. Therefore you can end your contract the very moment you reach 12 months.

If Sky are now allowing this, it's a complete step change from what they did previously...
Obviously, I'm not about to ring Sky to ask...;)

I asked by email about cancelling my HD pack sub and received the following reply:
Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.
I can confirm that your HD contract ends on 01/05/13, therefor the earliest you would be able to apply the 31 days notice to the HD would be 31/03/13 and this will take you through to the end of the contract.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Nice to know Sky are now allowing notice to be given before the minimum term has ended.
Does this apply to complete cancellation of subscription, I wonder? Your E-Mail was in response to a query about removing the HD pack...
