  • Oh Lucy, sorry to hear you're feeling down - I like reading your diary because you always cheers me up and give me motivation! At least it's the weekend eh? Have you got any plans? Don't worry about the chocolate - at least you DID go to the gym beforehand - it could have been worse! Can you treat yourself to some nice bubble bath or something and have a pamper evening??

    Thanks.

I normally try to stay positive.

I'm having a bit of a treat tomorrow night. Since it is Halloween I am going on a Ghost Walk and then doing some Ghost Hunting in a 'haunted' blacksmiths forge. But we are all going out for an indian before hand.

I should be really good fun, although I am going to have to find some nice warm clothing!

Awww...Lucy really sorry to hear that your down at the mo. Sounds like your keeping yourself busy though. The Ghost walk should be fun.

As for the chocolate, seriously don't worry about it too much. Everyone hits a "wall" so to speak. You've been doing sooo so well, try to focus on the positive and not the little slip ups you have occassionally. I bet its not as big a deal in the grand scheme of your weight loss as you think. Like you said, you went to the gym, which is the most important thing!

I actually dug my swimming kit out, i just need to see if it still fits and then I migh see if OH wants to swim at the weekends or I will go on my own one evening a week or something.

I feel like I need a change in my life.

  • Oooooh - a ghost walk! That sounds fab, I've always wanted to do one - let us know how it goes! And swimming is great - definitely my preferred form of exercise becuase it doesn't leave me feeling worn out like the gym does, just energised and it's good for the mind too I think, gives you time to have a think quietly to yourself - go for it! (And it's brilliant for the belly too - and you can't even feel it working!!)

My problem is actually going, I can talk about it, but doing it is something completely different!

My only other option is to join a local gym (doing £15 joining and then £26 a month for 3 months) we get a discount at work and someone I know has just joined, it would give me use of the gym, a personal program and free use of the pool, but I'm not sure I would stick at it.

But I guess if I was spending the money on it I would have to.

  • Hmm, I'm always wary of taking out a gym membership in case I end up not using it - they're so expensive! But I guess you could use the fact that it's already paid for to motivate yourself to go... I find it really hard to make myself swim, especially in winter, but once I've been a couple of times I know how good I feel afterwards and it gets easier. Can you go with the person from work who has joined and you can motivate each other?

She mentioned that this morning, but I don't know whether to just go swimming for a bit and see how I get on. I could always join at a later date.

  • Maybe see how you get on - how much you actually have time to swim etc and how much it costs - it might be worth just paying as you go if you don't have time to go very much. Good luck with it. And on a health and fitness (and moneysaving!) note, I'm off downstairs to buy a scone - I'm starving!!
