Hi all
I don't know whether there are any Three representatives on this site, but I thought I'd post asking for some help/advice.
24 hours ago I added the tethering add-on to my account using my phone. Since then, the add-on has become active (as confirmed by technical support on the phone) but I still continue to receive the tethering blocked message when I try to browse on my tablet connected to my phone.
I have tried resetting network settings on my phone, but no joy.
Does anyone have any suggestions at all?
Thanks
M.

Remove sim, switch phone on, shut down, re-insert sim, switch on, should work as mine done this before then worked ?? go to my 3 on your handset as it should show on your account there that the tethering budle is active, if its not call 3 back (poor you!)SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

I'll give that a try. The tethering add-on is active; I can see how much tethering data I have left. I just can't use it because they keep blocking it!0 -
lol, typical of a communications company is it not...they cant communicate whats not on a script !
Are you tethered via cable, bluetooth or wifi to the mobile ? What mobile is it ?SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

Hi, I have the same issue - personal hotspot blocked even though I have the tethering add-on. Three Technical Support apparently still working on it a week after reporting. Did you get your hotspot working? If so, how did you manage it?
Thanks!0 -

It did eventually start working, but that was only after a letter of complaint since you just go around in circles with the customer services.0 -

Jailbreak the phone and install TetherMe from Cydia.
BTW: tethering block is unfair on limited data tariffs (I mean tariff with certain amount of data monthly, 1GB for example). There is NO SINGLE WORD about tethering in ANY smallprint.
Please check it yourself if you don't believe.
They block tethering because of smallprint for the completely different tariff - The One. It says, the one tariff is the only tariff with tethering allowed.
I think it's illegal.
So using TetherMe is perfectly fine, I think. Especially it does nothing complicated, just simple swap of APN configuration (iPhone has special APN setting for tethering used by carriers to spy on users)0 -

The Three tariff I'm on specifically stated that the 1GB of data is NOT for tethering use. I've now added the unlimited data and tethering addon, so I can now tether.
I'm otherwise not interested in jailbreaking my phone.0
