We use a trolley for the supermarket and have lots of reusable linnen bags in the side compartment if we ever buy more stuff than fits in the trolley. I try to avoid plastic bags as much as possible, but I can't really see what all the fuss is about this £5 bag. Why pay that (or even more on ebay) for a bag that probably cost 25p to produce? Just because lots of celebrities carry an "I am not a plastic bag" bag around, does NOT make it a must-have!

Of course you can - I've been doing it for years because I shop at Aldi where you have to pay for carrier bags. When you have to pay for carrier bags you quickly learn to re-use boxes and bags for life !

Aldi leads the way....if all shops charged for carrier bags people would quickly learn to re-use old bags ! !

Not that I stand a chance of getting one - but what will they do, keep them in a box until 8am and then everyone makes a grab for it??

Don't see what the fuss is, as it's just a bag for your shopping...lol
Would not be bothered if a designer made it
  • I'll be going to my local Sainsbury's on Wed a.m. I bet it'll be like when Primark was selling £1 stuff in London.............better leave the baby behind then.

I was just updating my tesco account when I saw that they are giving you the choice to have your groceries delivered without carrier bags (except where necessary). Go into your account info and down at the bottom there is a button for 'grocery packing options'. I thought I would try this as I hate it when I get countless bags often with just 1 or 2 items in. I don't know how easy it will be to get all my shopping in the house but worth a try, can always change it back if it doesn't work. They will also give you extra green clubcard points for this (1 point for every 10 items I believe).
