No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in December

A couple more UU today, trying to get some in before the end of the month as Dec has been dire!
Jo Hansford Glossing Serum - This definitely moved with me five and a half years ago so goodness knows what its vintage was! I'm pretty sure you can't get it any more.... I used a drop of this on my styled hair to try and combat flyaways and static. Did the job pretty well but not sure it'd be any better than the next serum. In theory WBA as I'll need a similar product again.
Skin Therapy 3 in 1 fragranced facial wipes - Bargain from Wilko's at 2 for £1 but ever so slightly irritated my skin. At that price WBA but will go for the unfragranced ones next time. Don't much use face wipes any more as I have become better at 'proper' cleansing. Also have a few different types of wipes in the stash after Christmas as well as a part used pack of these so won't need any more for a while in any case.
Back to work for me tomorrow, was originally scheduled to be off but offered to swap with my boss as OH working and no firm plans, to be honest I'm not a great fan of NYE so not at all fussed. I'll be staying in with a glass of something fizzy and Alan Carr on the box0 -
Ok so my end of year roundup.
I've been doing the challenge for 11 weeks tomorrow. In that time I have UU/GA/TA 70 items, and have had 45 Ins, an average of 6.5 UUs and 4 Ins per week.
Of the Ins, 27% were free samples, 22% were GWPs, 13% were Xmas presents and the rest (38%) were purchased by me. The total cost of purchases over the 11 weeks was £94.38 or £8.58 per week.
As I put £2 in the pot for every UU, and occasionally put the value of an item I wanted to purchase in the pot to see if I still want it in a week (so far, I haven't), I have come out more than £60 ahead.
My stash is around 100 items of makeup and 200 items of other toiletries. My aim is that by Xmas next year, the makeup will be between 50 and 75 items, and the toiletries under 50. That would mean at least 13 UUs per month, which seems reasonable when I still have so many miniature products to use.
It would also mean a good healthy chunk of money saved, ready for next years Xmas sales, to stock up for the year
Can you tell I'm a spreadsheet nerd?0 -
A few more INs here, Wilko 2 in 1 cleanser- needed this, Boots extracts shea butter set- didn't need this but fancied it and 2 Santury minis from a difusser BF wanted for the house.Debt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
Evening ladies
I have 2 UU to report, I would imagine my last for the year.
Murad Face Wash, trial size from the 14 day acne treatment kit, WMBA, it didn't dry my skin out like other spot treating face washes tend to do but I think I might stick to Cleanse & Polish once all the stash is gone (so 2015 then!)
Body Shop Sweet Lemon body scrub - WNBA, didn't like this as it wasn't nearly scrubby enough and left a greasy film on my skin. I think it was trying to moisturise but I have more than enough body lotions to take care of that myself!
Nowhere near breaking even for December with all those xmas ins, but I did get lots of nice pressies!
Went sale shopping today and wasn't tempted by Boots or BS, I won't go back in again in case I am not so strong next time!
Happy new year to you all :beer:No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018
35 UU / 13 unnecessary ins0 -
Another UU (on a roll!):
Pure 3-in-1 facewipes, 2 for 1 in poundland. This is actually quite a good product, does not leave my face dry feeling dry after I remove my make-up and does not irritate my sensitive. WBA in the future.0 -
One more uu Lavera Hand Cream 20ml loved it would buy again, but have loads of hand cream in the stash.
Hoping for a few more UU tomorrow, so that December doesn't look so bad.0 -
Uhm, head hung in shame.
Remember my "no more cleansing wipes" rant. I bought some today. It was a 50% off special in the drugstore. Balea brand: one apricot facial scrub, one bottle eyemake up remover, one tub 52 wet cloths and 25 in a resealable packet wet cloths. In my defense the scrub and one pack of wipes would have cost more than $12.99, so I did save something.
Then I had to go to another drugstore to pick up a prescription (the other one has the post office in it). Somehow I bought three Revlon lip products, two lipsticks and a combo pack with a gloss and moisturizing stick.
I'm heading straight to the naughty stair.0 -

Rosemary, the parking fees are one of the main reasons I avoid going to Holt's. It's $1.50 for 30 minutes and you never make it out of the cosmetics department in time to deal with the underground parking system.
I will not kill my husband. I'm just off nights and he is more than capable of feeding himself but is whining about what's for supper. I said turkey breast and potatoes, now he's on about left over Chinese. I mean, feed yourself, I'm barely awake.0 -
It is 1am and I cannot sleep. I was supposed to be cleaning our old flat today, before handing the keys back tomorrow. Well today now I guess.
I didn't get that much done and around 9.30 had a second wind. I've just sat down, hadn't realised how late it was.
I have however realised that I also hoard cleaning products!!:eek: Clearing out the cupboard under the sink I swear I've found a half dozen open cans of furniture polish, and as for kitchen cleaner sprays, bottles of bleach, bottles of carpet cleaner when we have hardwood floors :rotfl:
I have used up three bottles of cleaning product today, can I count them in my UUs? :A;)0 -

No, but you can start a thread about it: I did about books and DVDs!:rotfl:
And ladies, I have decided to gift myself my remaining Sanctuary set that I bought in the Boots -75% sale last year. I have given lots of Sanctuary gifts over the years, but I have never received one myself, so I have decided that if nobody else is going to give me one, I'm going to do it myself! :rotfl:

1 xSanctuary Hand Cream (75ml)
