So good to hear you've enjoyed ore of the SW Coast path, Rosy, to my mind the Weymouth to Abottsbury bit is about the best, blissful. :grinheart BTW, no doubt nu1isit? is busy caring for the family and just doesn't get a lot of time to come on these days. He'll turn up soon enough.
Excellent work on how you're progressing, Helen, stay strong and focused.

I guess I'm a bit too late to join in but I have just started putting away a pound a day in a purse. I might buy a cheap pot though as it is less tempting to dip into it!Saving for Christmas 2017 £120/£400 :beer:0

Hi,
I'm new here but would like to join, even though we're already halfway through the year.
I've ordered a nice ceramic pot that'll be with me early next week then I'll be adding random coins to it.
My plan is to put all silver coins from my purse into the pot at the end of each day that I've spent money.
I was thinking of putting coppers as well but they'll fill up the pot quickly and aren't worth as much. I'll give those to my daughter for her locked tin - she's saving for a specific toy.
On a good day a gold coin might even find it's way into the pot, you never know. It'll all help with the expense of Christmas.0 -
Welcome scientist DFW. Sue will be along to give your number soon. In the meantime read page 1 post 1 for the do's and what not to do. Also subscribe to the thread so you can keep up to date with us. Happy potting :-))

Evening all.
Nell, all the best for your operation on Monday. Take care of yourself. I'm sure your parents will look after you well next week. :heart2:
Haven't potted anything for a couple of days. However, I did put over £300 in to the house fees savings account.:dance: Only 5% left to save until we have all the money we need for the deposit and fees. Then we just need to put aside everything we can for decorating and buying new furniture. Shame the car MOT and tax is due this month as I need to put money aside for that.
We had the mortgage advisor confirm to us today that our mortgage offer is in the post!! :T Very happy about that, the underwriter unnecessarily slowed it down a bit...hey ho! It's all sorted now.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -

Thank you for all the lovely well wishes. I feel very calm and ready for surgery....that tumour is gonna come out on Monday!
Crimson - you have such a good memory. It was my nephew who likes his ITunes, but as we are encouraging saving, and he already has some money left on his card, then I am not going to mention it to him. But thank you for thinking of us.
I will catch up with you all in about 10 days time, but today have potted 68p, and will make sure I add to that pot just as soon as I am back home from my parents.SPC No:118:j (6) £468.74 (7)

Good Luck Nells! Will be thinking of you on Monday, tell them docs to kick that tumours backside
Welcome newbies to the thread :wave:
Well went to the optitions yesterday and shes decided to give me a slightly weaker prescription so I can wear my glasses all the timeand then the nice ladies outside alieviated me of £171 for a new frame :eek: (very kindly let me have the lenses and test for free :rotfl:). I know the optitions are grossly overpriced on their frames but our closest specsavers is in the city centre and tbh it would have been weeks if not months before I had the energy to get there let alone sit and wait for them to sort the lenses, so I just had to bite the bullet on it
On a nicer note, my phone contract is up so I just got a shiny new iphone 5 in the post todaycosting me £27 a month :eek: (I dont usually pay more than £20 a month!) and I paid £99 for the phone as it saved me £45 overall on the cost of the contract to do it that way, plus I got £80 cashback and just sold my old Iphone 3GS for £60 so all good :j :j DH has been eyeing it up all day and I have promised when his contract is up in august he can have one as well (which of course has nothing to do with the fact that its a £1 cheaper than his current contract and with unlimited data and texts, and 600 mins he wont run me up a huge phone bill
)
Have chucked a little bit of scrapnel in the big tub today but the bloomin cash point was out of order so had to pay with my cardhopefully more pennies tomorrow
