In my case I defaulted back in 2005 on mt debts with Cahoot, Capital One & HBOS
Cahoot defaulted me in May 2008 (falls off May 2014)
Cap One defaulted me in Dec 2008 (falls of Dec 2014)
HBOS defaulted me in Dec 2008 (falls of Dec 2014).
I`m not bothered about the defaults as I dont want credit in the future !0 -

Im not after credit in the future like mortgage or loans etc. A default can make a difference to whether your accepted for a mobile phone contract or not or whether your accepted for a current bank account or whether your accepted for utilities such as gas and electric to survive. So that means i do have to take care of my credit report.0 -
I rent and have no desire to get a mortgage.
But I had a contract phone before I defaulted, and havent defaulted on that, and so have been having regular upgrades on it since my default date.
(Same with my utility bills etc).

Isnt there a new law coming out where you can default on rent payments? Dont estate agents check your credit report before you allowed to rent?0 -

I have been defaulted twice for the same account!
The original lender lloyds put a default on my credit report and sold the debt to their client debt recovery company called Lowell Portfolio.
Lowell Portfolio also put a default on my Credit report hence why I have been defaulted twice for the same account meaning 2 separate default account entries on my credit report.
However I contacted Lowell Portfolio and they decided to close the account and removed their default in which they did.
So should Lloyds do the same? I thought a debtor cant be defaulted twice for the same account?0 -

One default can be recorded, and will drop off 6 years from default date. Is there now only one default recorded? They are not allowed to change the date.:beer:0 -

Default record with the original creditor is valid until someone else takes over the record. Lowells never actually did, or passed it back, so the original stands.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

So if Lowell didnt didnt took over the debt then why would they register their own default on my credit report?
If they passed the debt back they would have sent me acknowledgement saying they have no business with me or lloyds any more right?
However is it legally allowed to have 2 defaults for the same account?0
