TCP ticket in Residential area - Scotland - please can you confirm I should ignore?

Options
Hello, quick question - I know there are many threads re ignoring TCP tickets which I have read. However I see alot of these refer to supermarkets. My ticket was today in a residential parking area for new build flats in Edinburgh. Just checking there are no different regulations in Scotland as opposed to England? Please can someone confirm I should just ignore all letters that are to come as suggested by others? Thank you.

    1. They won't know who the driver is unless you tell them
    2. They can only offer a contract to park if they own the land where the parking incident occurred - which I doubt
    3. They can only claim in respect of the landholder's losses, which were zero.

    You should simply ignore everything.

There are some differences if you parked in disabled bays on private land sometimes, but those I believe would still have to be issued by the council. TCP though are toothless so ignore them, you will get letters threatening a lot of outlandish things, for example to take you to the small claims, which is pretty difficult in Scotland ;) What that should tell you is that that they don't proceed to claims, otherwise they'd know what that entails .
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Thank you for the advice- I will just ignore all the letters that will no doubt come over the next few months then. I wont contact them at all. I assume TCP have not taken anyone to the small claims court in Scotland?

TCP have not taken anyone to small claims Court anywhere!

Ignore them is the right answer. Their usual threatograms are here:

Just play snap with each matching letter in the chain! And tell your friends and family about this over Christmas, do spread the word so that your loved ones never fall for one of these fake PCN scams, where ever they are in the UK.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Is this parking space linked to your flat/accomodation/home?
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"
  • Not fair. I'm trying to get a ticket from them and you manage by accident!!

Can you please scan the letters for us if they are different from the ones we already have. It will save me trying for tickets.
  • Hello - No, the parking space is not related to my flat. It was another residential block of flats in Edinburgh. Luckily my landlord has totally free parking for residents - I have lived in my flat for 15 years and have always been able to get a parking space despite there being no parking enforcements.
  • Yes I will scan in any letter / threats if they are different to the ones on here already. I am sure they will keep coming up with new ideas . I look forward to receiving my christmas post from them! At least I know I can just sit back and ignore them all now without worrying.
