  • Right I have two choices then and the one with the most votes I will buy, it's either

Call of duty or Far Cry

this is for a 12 year old boy so which would he be better suited to? He likes COD and he likes Assassins Creed

You're welcome. My point still stands though. They're 18 rated for a reason.

I'd probably say COD, unless his mum will sit down and explain the drug-based storyline of Far Cry 3 so he understands it and can contextualise it in reality? At least COD's storyline isn't challenging or much different to a simple jingoistic, bombastic blockbuster.

The only other game i enjoy playing with other people outside the uk is madden 13 as only americans can challange me at nfl hehehe

Get in touch with Alex Dale, editor of Xbox World/PSM 3. He's NFL crazy, and bemoans the lack of decent competition.

After playing both games i prefer FC3 but if you buy it for your son you would have to explain most stuff to him like drugs ect so i would stick with cod for a 11 year old :)

...That you have a look at the reviews for Hitman Absolution? Whilst it IS a game rated for mature folks and obviously requires you to kill people (the clue is in the name) it's definitely the thinking person's violent game rather than one of the normal run-n-gun COD-type blood-em-up games.

The basic idea is to take out a number of unsavoury characters without being spotted and without harming other people. You have complete freedom as to how you complete your mission: you COULD simply run through the level and kill everything (two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead...) or you could sneak in using disguises and air ducts and slip a few sleeping tablets into someone's coffee while they're out of the room investigating those dustbins you just knocked over.

Perhaps it's slightly more worrying to find it enjoyable to have to planning ways to kill people without being detected but the game actively rewards you for not hurting or killing people who aren't your primary target. As someone who practically wore out the gamepad of their Xbox playing Grand Theft Auto 4, it's surprising how rewarding it is to play a slower-paced game that encourages you to think about your actions and keep trying until you succeed.

Throw in a good storyline too boot and a LONG single player mode (plus already 50,000 custom missions created by players) and it's definitely the best buy I've made for the Xbox for a long time. Definitely worth checking out unless you think your nephew just wants to shoot his friends for hours on end. :)

I need something else. I've gone back to World at War, but it's hacked to pieces more often than not, which compounds the issues already created by campers...
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

The new hitman i have compleated. Itis a good game but lacking in content i know that a big part of gameslike COD ect are online but i would expect a longer campain mode. Dont get me wrong the campain mode in black ops 2 is really good but far to short.
