Sadly, consumers tend to want more of the same -- more of what they know. Just like some people buy every fifa, every year, when there are only significant updates every two-to-three years. The same goes for COD. People want to buy a game they know they'll like because it won't be too different.

I personally try to buy as varied a selection of games as possible, because I get bored too quickly, but most peopel aren't like that, and wouldn't give the likes of Okami (if you've got a PS3 and haven't bought it on PSN, please die) or Deadly Premonition, Ouendan or even Tokyo Jungle the time of day, because they can't understand it in one gun-!!!!!! screenshot.

    Okami btw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9m41kd_kDE

    Seems a bit harsh ;)

I dont have a ps3 but okami looks quite good xD I also brought fifa 13 but sold it on ebay after 3 days because the glitchs drove me mad eg: The invisable ball and the kicking you out of the ea server during matchs.
  • If you play CoD online you're guaranteed a game with other players in your locale for at least 12 months, often more.

With other games with an online element the online community drops off rapidly, leaving only the die hard to carry on. More often than not these players are way outside of your locale which renders the game unplayable.

It's a shame because I enjoyed Max Payne 3 online. But in the end I could only get games with people on the other side of the world, with rendered it unplayable due to the latency involved.

    My view on the games

MW1 (COD 4) was good, in fact the best MW for me
    MW2 was good
MW3 was ok but not as good as the previous 2

    Black Ops was good
BLOps 2 not as good as previous Black Ops.

CoD MW all the way. It heralded a new era in FPS games.

Then they ruined it with killstreaks, then deathstreaks, then they added Lag Compensation.

They only ever listen to the MLG pro circuit. The rest of us can suck a fat one.

Thing is, we all fall for it year after year.

I would actually say the moment where it became a joke was zombies. I know my way around games probably more than any sane, normal person should, when I buy a CoD game I want to shoot humans, the occasional barrel or vehicle, if I want to shoot zombies I'll play Left 4 Dead/Resident Evil/Dead Rising not CoD! The mulitplayer might just be me but I don't get hyped up for it because I know it's packed with basement goblins who know the map probably better than their own house & know every spawn point but would struggle to tell you where the nearest cash machine is to their house. That's not entertainment to me, that's just lunacy, I'd much rather whack in something like Burnout or Fifa whereby atleast you've got some scope to be creative!

4 hour campaigns though are unforgivable, that's just too short in anyone's estimation, I've played old gameboy games which took longer to complete than BO2/MW3

FIFA 13 is my go to game when I need to de-stress from playing CoD! lol

Some players in CoD take it far too seriously. All they care about is their KDR, so they camp. All they care about is getting the Nuke, so they boost for 25 kills. If you kill them you get death threats in a message, or abuse in the lobby. Although the mute all function given to us in BLOPS2 is a absolute godsend!

You forgot World at War. Personally my favourite. Black Ops2 comes with the same laggy issues as Black Ops 1. It's the first game I've not bothered to prestige on. Previous MW's are all good, and for me, having the missions give them a nice touch.
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?
