Problem I've found nowdays is that if the game is a shoot'em up like Call of Duty/Halo etc.. and has a online multiplayer setup, it'll have about 4-6 hours of storymode single player and the rest is focussed on the online multiplayer, as is the majority of future dlc, which is why I refuse to purchase them on launch and wait at least 4-6 weeks then get it when the stores like game/cex etc are overloaded with preowned stock and are selling it for next to nothing.

Back in the days of old, before multiplayer and pretty graphics, there were games which took weeks/months to beat, unfortunatly its the way it is nowdays.

Skyrim took me 3 months, Xenoblade chronicles took me 4, you've still got lengthy JRPGs, and stuff like RDR which I'm still playing. Just need to pick games with lengthy campaigns rather than going for the popcorn crowd.

This is where horse nose-bags come in handy. Wear a pizza filled face-thingy and munch while both hands are free.

bought this for my brother at 1am last night, he nearly wet himself with the excitement. cant see the appeal myself.
  • 1am is a strange time to pick it up haha.

I dont see the appeal anymore. There are other games out there better that CoD but i guess its each to their own. I did enjoy MW3 but didnt play it much.

My grandson just got this game and hasn't moaned about it. He's getting 2 more for Christmas and I wanted to get him Far Cry 3 but his dad says no more games.

Don't know WHAT to get him now because his XBox is all he wants!

Sadly, consumers tend to want more of the same -- more of what they know. Just like some people buy every fifa, every year, when there are only significant updates every two-to-three years. The same goes for COD. People want to buy a game they know they'll like because it won't be too different.

I personally try to buy as varied a selection of games as possible, because I get bored too quickly, but most peopel aren't like that, and wouldn't give the likes of Okami (if you've got a PS3 and haven't bought it on PSN, please die) or Deadly Premonition, Ouendan or even Tokyo Jungle the time of day, because they can't understand it in one gun-!!!!!! screenshot.

    Okami btw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9m41kd_kDE
