Apparently they've got 30000 machines to sort ....or 80000 , depends who you talk to.
I spoke to H/office just now as had waited 10 days ....I hadn't been allocated to an engineer .
I asked about a replacement , no go , so have to wait .....distinctly unimpressed.
Head office has said it will be sorted now....I will wait and see.0 -
We have a Beko tumble dryer and I would be interested in finding out if it is one of the 'at risk' items mentioned.
I have just looked on the Beko UK website and cannot find any reference to a recall on Tumble dryers but there are links to Cookers and Refrigerators. Could anyone provide any info on which models are affected please?

I was told on Friday that I would hear from their engineers in a few days. When I complained yesterday re no phone call I have been told thay will now be contacting me within a month about the repair.
When I asked to speak to the repairs dept they informed me that I could not and the phone called ended.
Customer service from Beko is appalling. I will be boycotting this company from now on..

So you only allow them 2 days... Both of which were weekend. And then complain because they have not got back to you.
Clearly while there is a issue. It can't be a serious one or they would be advising people to stop using the dryers.
Seems to be good customer service to advise you of the issue.
Remember they will have to order new parts to fit to god knows how many dryers.... Not something that will happen overnight, then arange home vists by staff to fit the parts.
Again not something that is going to happen overnight.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Hi,
I strongly recommend that anyone with a Beko tumble dryer recall to unplug!
I awoke in the early hours of a January morning to my utility room ablaze. I have not received a recall note from Beko and had purchased the machine on a BNPNY scheme last September. They knew of this problem at the end of November & in a conversation with one of their employers I was told at the end of January that they were still posting letters!!
My machine was taken away by forensics and the problem resulted was the faulty capacitor.
It caused thousands of £s worth of damage that my insurance company are now claiming back from Beko.
I am disgusted that they have put lives of people at risk with their lack of post customer care. In this day & age this is unacceptable.
Good luck to you all.
Ps I found my machine on the Which? website. It contained the warning for recall, unfortunately for me it was too late.0 -
Everyone please be sure to install smoke detectors and change the batteries regularly if you intend to use electricals overnight or whilst you are out of the house. Even items with no inherent fault can catch fire, not just tumble dryers but washing machines and dishwashers.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I disagree with previous respondents re your legal situation. You are entitled to a full refund from the retailer you bought the appliance from, and if you wanted to be extra difficult, you could also insist on financial compensation for the distress you have suffered. If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau0

And the legislation to back this claim up is?
Faulty goods are covered under the SOGA, and this act is very clear with regards to a retailers responsibilities and that once the goods have been accepted by a consumer, any fault can be dealt with by way of a repair, replacement or refund.
The consumer can state a preference but if their preference is overly costly or disproportionate to a different remedy then the retailer can refuse.0 -
The sale of goods act is not the only piece of legislation ever to be passed by parliament. Consumer law stretches far further than SOGA.
If a retailer fails to supply goods of a merchandisable quality then they can be held as negligent, In this case, the negligence is exacerbated because of the risk of injury or even death from the fire hazard.
Please check your home insurance policy, you may have legal cover included which will get you in touch with a solicitor free of charge. If you are robust and determined the retailer will pay, because the consequences of legal proceedings against them in a case like this would be very severe. If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Agreed, so I will ask you again.

If you are going to advise people, at least try to provide something other than your opinion. If a retailer fails to supply goods of a merchandisable quality then they can be held as negligent,0
