Morning everyone,
Molly, Hilstep and LW Hugs for you.
Miffy hugs for your DD and get well soon.
Beemuzed please keep on posting.
Judi hope you get things sorted out with your auntie.
Tru glad your mum and dad are ok.
Yet another busy day at work and then I am taking DD1 to the dentists!
Yesterday I made a cottage pie and a fish pie so the remains of those will do for tea.
OH is really miserable at the moment. He is meant to be going skiing in January with a group of his friends, they have been planning it for ages, but he has injured his knee and it is touch and go whether it will heal in time. Positive vibes please.
Oh well, back to the marking.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning all, Moorhen really strong positive vibes aimed straight at your OH's knee.
Sunny but really cold and frosty here. Had a FABULOUS day with my cousin yesterday we both got loads of Xmas shopping done in a totally stress free way. She needed to get back to her's fairly early this morning so took her to the station, went to the gym, topped up the food shop, put some washing on, showered and am about to go see my son.
While we were out my cousin insisted we buy 'Ecclefechan Tarts'. Oh my Goodness! They are delicious!!! Found some in my local Sainsburys and stocked up with 3 boxes! Well......if a things worth doing it's worth doing to excess. have now looked on the internet and found a recipe, doesn't look too hard except for the pastry (I am not great at pastry and it's an egg yolk and butter one). Might give it a go.
Need to ash over to son's now.
Have a good day all.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -

redruby, its my birthday soon and I've asked for a lunch date with Mum and some shopping at the Christmas market. I'll treat her to some mulled wine instead of a cocktail over lunch.

Hi folks, I'm it a new member but this is my first foray into this part of the forum!
I'd love to be able to chat over the fence even if it is only a virtual one! I used to have a great neighbour I could do that with but she moved and th new people are out all day. I probably spend too much time on the Internet! Have three children in their twenties, not at home, an adorable collie x dog and two Maine coon cats, o, and a husband.
I'm sometimes very mse, love charity shops and make most food from scratch but then I am also capable of just getting silly and spending money on stuff we don't need.
Yesterday I bought a mans striped jumper in a charity shop, chopped the arms off, hemmed them, added a couple of buttons to the side and I have a very cosy and cool looking pair of fake boots socks or leg warmes as they were in the eighties to wear under my boots. They just peek out and aim very happy with them, they really do keep you warmer so I would advocate them as a good idea for any one , boot wearers or not, in the privacy of your own home!Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Morning
All just a quick dash on here before off to the hairdressers, need to get my twinklies covered before I return. Appointment on Monday made for Skye for her check up and Tape worm treatment to allow her back in the UK
Artytary Welcome along, we are a friendly bunch here, certainly not all perfectly OS thought we all try to do bits of it, so you should fit in perfectly.
Need to write my Xmas cards for over here, will need to start my UK ones when I get home :eek::eek::eek:
Done a load of on line shopping to sort DH, DS & Fianc!e out for Xmas, so should be OK. Will only have a max of 15 days to sort out Xmas:o;) Using the Debenhams Sales items, etc., may not always be totally OS but usually money savvy
One thing I am about to do is totally not money savvy is to get myself an i-phone 5, I have talked myself in and out of it countless times, just need to decide whether to buy it outright as get a £27 sim with 12 months free data, and pay for the few calls I make, or look for a package, doing numbers like no
tomorrow!
Take care all -LW positive vibes for you. Beemuzed come on now keep appearing, no one worse than me.

Sistercas well done to DD :T
Judi might just be worth sucking up the awkward feeling and speak to son. Tell him you're worried about stepping on his toes. Tiptoeing round the issue isn't making it go away.
Tru glad your parents are both ok xx
Julie happy birthday to your DS x hope he is having a good time down under
Hugs and spoons all round.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi all
OMG it's c-c-cold today!
JackieG I used to burn all my "confidential waste" when I lived near Bicester, but we're not allowed to have bonfires here, so I have to shred it these days. I miss it, I love a good bonfire; when I left school, I had a mahoosive one, with all my exercise books.:D And when I split up with my fiance (I was 19 at the time) I had another, and disposed of all his letters and photos.:rotfl:
Tru sorry to hear about your parents' accident; good that their injuries are only minor. GWS wishes to them.:o
Judi I don't blame you for crying off from the reunion – you really didn't fancy it, did you?:o It's very noble of you to agree to keep your friend company, but as there's another friend going as well now, I think you're doing the right thing not putting yourself through that particular mill. Good luck with the Auntie situation; I have no words of wisdom, as family dynamics are a total mystery to me, but I do wish you well with it.:o
Artytarty a very warm welcome to you.
WAFFLE ALERT: FEEL FREE TO IGNORE THE NEXT BIT.
I've had a stress-inducing letter from DWP; it's not unexpected, they now want me to jump through their hoops of fire to be put from IB onto ESA. We were expecting this, but what stressed me out was the prospect of talking on the phone, as they said they would phone me. I am telephone-phobic, to the extent that I am uncomfortable remaining in the room if Mr LW is talking on the phone to someone! I never, ever answer the landline if it rings; my mobile has three different ring tones – one for Mr LW, a second for the dog-sitting service franchisee, and the third for “everyone else”, which gets red-buttoned if it rings.:eek::eek:Anyways, he rang them; they wanted to talk to me, I nearly had a total meltdown there and then, so they said they'd talk to him as my representative.
Upshot is, the next thing is I get one of their big scary forms to fill out. Mr LW and I talked at length last night; we both agree I'm too fragile, both physically and mentally, to cope with the procedures, so we may just drop my claim.:( For a kick-off, if they want me to attend an assessment, Mr LW will have to take time off work to take me. Which isn't as easy as it sounds, with his job.:(
Times like this, I feel like throwing in the towel completely;:( after all, maybe next time around, I'll get a properly functioning body. *hollow laugh *
OK WAFFLE OVER
On to happier things: Mr LW has his new 'puter. After all the mix-up with D3ll, they actually came up with the goods:T – though I've kept the link Butterfly Brain kindly provided for a place in Bedford, for when we need to replace my desktop pc.;) Anyways, the new machine is awesome! The graphics are fantastic – we loaded “Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning” last night, as this needs a really good graphics card, and it looked so much better than on the old pc. :T
First thing he did, of course, was get anti-virus/anti-malware sorted out;;) and he's going to try Mozilla Thunderbird for his email; I've used it for ages and like it, so he's going to give it a go. I'm supposed to download Open Office for him today, if I get chance.
I also have some membership paperwork to do which came yesterday, but with everything else, I just didn't get chance to do:cool: *feels horribly guilty * so I must do that today, whatever else happens.
Sorry, this is turning into “War & Peace” - I'll shut up now.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
julie happy birthday to ds x0

Nothing like a god waffle!
Just listening to the news and those poor people are about to have their houses demolished in Whitby. How horrendous.
As for me, we'll, I'm a little bit creative but not at all tarty!perhaps I secretly wish I was!
Spurned on by the fly ladies I have cleaned the bathroom.
This afternoon I have to take my poor mum to the dentists for N extraction. She is needle phobic which won't help.its al so very cold here across the Irish Sea today.Norn Iron Club member 4730
