If your supermarket gives you money off for using your own carrier bags, and they have a recycling bin outside, then just grab a handfull of bags on your way in, re-use them and save a few pence (and the planet ...)0

Something I did (although it may have been mentioned here before) is use the mysupermarket site that was mentioned to create a shopping list. I then reduced the bill further by swapping out expensive goods for cheaper versions then saved myself the £4 minimum delivery, so the shopping which originally came out at £72, then went to £63 and i just printed off the shopping list to use in the shop therefore saving me another £4

Hi all
Don't know if any of you do this but I shop online with Tesco every week, I have been doing this since June last year as when we came back off holiday and I had badly sprained my ankle so I was unable to go shopping.
Its brill doing it online and it saves me at least £30 a week. We found that we used to go round the shop and if we saw good offers we would just put them in the basket, online you can still buy the offers but they are not as tempting and plus this month I have gone over 1000 tesco points. :j
Would highly recommend this, it is abit difficult setting up your shopping list intially but then you can go in the last weeks shopping list and just put them in you basket.:T
Happy Tesco shopping.

I noticed today that Tesco have put up their prices for value oranges from 54p to 99p. They were great for juicing however it maybe cheaper to get he proper juicing oranges with double the amount of oranges for £1.790

Also watch out if you internet shop - my friends and I have noticed the supermarkets seem to be using it as an opportunity to off-load food that will very shortly be past its use by date.
For instance, Asda delivered 10 turkey slices to me this week as part of my internet shop, that had a use by date of the very next day. This practice by supermarkets has put me off internet shopping now. You can hardly keep the delivery driver waiting while you check the dates on every item of shopping.

My first shop with Tesco shopping they did this . I called to complain as there were 5 meat items, and was given full refund on them all, not had the problem since0 -
Just noticed you can now get ipoints at mysupermarket which at 2 points per £1 will soon add up. Although don't know if this is a double edged sword, as surely this will soon end with mysupermarket going subscription based (as with fixture ferrets)0

hello pudding queen, yeh i do tesco int shop every 2 weeks, i have a 2week menu plan, so i go in my freezer check whats left in,slot into my plan then i know how many meals i need, i have a shelf in the garage which my husband calls the shop were i have plenty of uht milk, loo roll, kitchen roll, cleaning stuff, t. bags, cordials and juice etc. My husband as pack up everyday so i freeze sliced haslet, corned beef etc oh and bread.. If i have been unhappy with dates or anything else i ring and they refund me but i get to keep it:D i also think there value stuff is pretty good just swapped to value quiche which is about £1 cheaper than there normal quiche, i can't tell the difference. so if you have quiche on your menu every week you can save over £50 per year , how mad is that(if u like it that is) and because there is a running total no overspending......:rotfl:excellent for keeping to a budget .. thanks all bye 4 knowpuddingqueen wrote: »Hi all

I used to buy loads of toothpaste when they BOGOF, I've cut down on the amount I buy after discovering a few months later when sorting out bathroom drawers the toothpaste was out of date, I chucked it out in case the ingredients werent as effective as they should be. So they were'nt such a bargain for me after all.0
