PCN West Quay Retail park

Hi all
I moved to Southampton just over a year ago, so not that familiar with the area yet as all I seem to do is work. Don't go into the city very often. I had a day off and decided to nip and do a bit of Christmas shopping at the retail park. My boyfriend and I have been there a few times and never put a ticket in the car, so I didn't think twice about getting one today. Was gone half hour tops, came back to find a PCN on my windscreen. I have done a google search this evening and found out that the first half hour is free to park, but you need to display a ticket.
Needless to say the signs and ticket machines must have been pretty hard to spot as I would have gone straight to it if I'd seen it!! I have seen a few threads on here about ignoring these notices, but does anyone have any experience with this car park and where I stand?
Many thanks for your help.

You fail to say who gave you this , the advice depends on your answerExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Oops sorry! Britannia Parking issued the fine. £40 within 14 days, or £70 after. The offence was for not displaying a valid pay and display ticket.0

If it's the same West Quay retail park that I think it is then the company is most likely Britannia.
However, if I remember correctly West Quay multi-story might be council-run, so worth checking.0 -
pah, beaten to it.
you can happily ignore Britannia (assuming your 'PCN' is a Parking Charge Notice, right?)0 -
It's NOT a fine, and it's safe to ignore providing the vehicle is not hired or a company car etc. this company and others like them cannot issue fines or penalties so just ignore their threats completely.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. Do you mean if the vehicle is NOT hired or a company car?
I've already amended that if you noticeExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
