Why? There's no need for 'an email'. When the unlock takes place you may get a text from the unlock department, but that's it!0

i have phoned orange twice tonight.
the first call lasted 19 minutes before i was cut off.
the second call laster 22 minutes and again i was cut off.
And thanks for all the comments about not needing an email or an unlock code, but i am only going on what orange customer services are telling me!0 -

You should ask for your money back the way they are playing you about
It should not take the time you have been waiting
That's why i went the eBay way mines still working since May and updated to ISO 6.1.0 latest firmware

for the extra money you would have had it done 7 weeks ago.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
I have just finished a letter of complaint that I will send in the post recorded delivery.
I am asking for a refund of my costs incurred, and a refund for my iPhone 3GS so I can go and purchase one for my daughter that will work on her network!0 -
I have had the same problem. First contacted Orange early October, repeated calls since. You need to speak to iPhone team via customer service as most CS personnel do not even understand the process.
I have been told a couple of things but it is very likely a fruity problem between orange and apple.
I have had my unlocking fee re-funded and to use their terminology my problem escalated but as of today any sim I insert is not recognised by iTunes.
I need to next look at offcom regulations......0 -
It's 10 weeks now and my iPhone is still locked.
Another reason I will not be getting another apple phone.
I know I keep banging on about how pants orange are, but apple have a part to play in this too!0 -
phil - having exactly the same hassle as you. I am now 8 weeks into the unlock - plus countless phone calls, 2 letters and several emails. They have failed to respond to any email/letter, and promise the imminent arrival of the 'code' whenever I ring.
I've been told the problem lies with Apple, the iphone department, the out-sourced centres, next door's cat or simply that no-one at orange is capable of completing the process. I have also been advised to go for a jailbreak!
I have learnt - their email system is permanently (or long term temporary) down, so don't bother. The address on their own Code of Practice is incorrect - it is no longer the Bristol one. The message you posted means that the phone is not ready to be unlocked.
I'd be interested to know if anyone ever has achieved an unlock through orange.
I have now resorted to faxing a final letter before going to arbitration.0 -
you guys having problmes getting your orange iphones unlocked & waiting weeks & weeks etc, getting no where through customer services
have you thought of emailing the CEO of Orange, when ever I've had a problem with something/company, I usually find going stright to the top gets instant answers/results
check google for CEO email address
don't think I can post the actual email on here, but there is a site that lists all CEO emails
good luck0 -
Hi,
I also had the same problem as you but ended up going to a local mobile phone shop on the market that sold accessorize and second hand phones etc and got them to jailbreak the phone for me, it can be done by yourself but is not advised as it is very easy to 'brick' your iphone, were as if a shop bricks the phone it is there responsibility to replace the phone.
I really hope you get sorted and get your phone unlocked, and very shocked to hear apple have such an appalling customer service for such a large multi million pound company! keep a record/reciepts of the countless times you have contacted them and had to splash out on the cost of postage and you may well be able to get the unlock fee waved and your postage refunded.

I always thought it was illegal to jail break phones.0
