Have you actually read post #8 above in this thread.
The only way it can effect your credit rating is if they took you to court which will never happen, they won which also will never happen and you did not pay the fine within 30 days.0 -

Let us guess then £207, is it Graham White? Did you forget to add on 25p at the end? When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Try looking at the letter chains as already suggested.Coupon-mad wrote: »All the letter-chains from Roxburghe/Graham White are shown in a link on the sticky thread called 'PPC letter chains' (currently 5th from top of the forum). Of course the letter will 'threaten' to take you to Court - that's why we nickname these letters 'threatograms'!

Hi everyone.following my previous post i received my first graham white letter last week! It does make me feel a little nervous but following the advice on here I am just hoping these idiots will go away soon. I have not received any threatening calls as yet, when should these start, and approx how many GW letters should I expect to receive? Do they actually send out court letters too?
Thanks any further info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again

The phone calls are very rare and they are made, if at all, by student call centre staff at Roxburghe (not from some real Solicitor's office at all). But don't even worry about that because 99.9% of people just get the letters and it's just a case of playing snap with them against these pics:

And no, ''Graham White'' is just a trading name of Roxburghe and they almost never try a real Court claim. The name GW is run by a very old guy called Michael Sobell (Google the details and you'll find lots about this scam). We've seen GW send out initial Small Claims papers (big deal) twice in 2012 - out of thousands of cases Roxburghe chase - and both times they gave up when the person got a defence from this forum or pepipoo forum.
HTH - Merry Christmas! Spread the word about this scam.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

RE Michael Sobel. Is he the "real" solictor, even if retired that lends his name?
I was told years ago that it is a criminal offence to claim to be a "solictor" in the UK as it has a legal conotation.
Anyone in the UK can claim to be a "lawyer" as it has no legal meaning here,it simply means a legal advisor. But in the USA it would be a similar offence to make that claim as it has legal meaning there.0 -

Hi again Kev!
Yes he is and he used to work for a Council as well! Some stuff about him:

This is probably the most posted-about debt collector scam connected to PPCs. Roxburghe (pen pushing debt collection firm only, with no powers) issue the letters, not a firm of Solicitors. And on the phone their Call Centre student staff also pass themselves off as staff from 'Graham White'.
See how they pass themselves off as 'GW' on this pepipoo thread by Alexis:
