  • Good morning everyone :)
Happy Birthday to redruby's daughter :bdaycake:

I was going to say it's a long time since my 18th birthday but it's quite a while since my DD's 18th so it must be a very long time since mine!

Am a little bit back to normal today but can't see it lasting as we already have a number of problems to sort in work and are in the middle of a site audit too. I am counting the days until the Christmas break and the idea of having 2 whole weeks off.

Nearly forgot to turn the oven on this morning but remembered at the last minute, so we should be going home to pulled pork, our current favourite and it will last us for 2 nights with extra portions to freeze. Home made soup and bread for lunch yet again.

No decluttering done this week so far so I will have to catch up at the weekend. I opened a dining room cupboard yesterday and lots fell out so I will start there. I also discovered that DH has filled a cupboard to bursting with sheet music so he can be tasked with sorting that out. Christmas tree and decorations are currently inaccessible so that path needs to be cleared and the stuff in the way can go in the bin or into the Oxfam bag as appropriate. Airing cupboard is on the list for a sort out too.

Time to get some more work done so will leave with well wishes for sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Have a super day :)

Judi - do you check your meds when you bring them home? DH has a monthly script for ten different items and on two occasions I've discovered one is either missing or incomplete.

No but i think i need to. I ordered a 28 day supply of each so i should technically be running out at the same time.

Anyway, ive been to the Post Office, been to the chemist. Spent half hour in the cold talking to my friend Heather who has recently adopted a 10 year old dog from the Dogs Trust after her dear old Retriever sadly had to be PTS 3 months ago. Although she said no more dogs she found that she missed her friend more than she thought she would. I am glad she went to the Dogs Trust and rescued a unwanted dog.

Then another half hour spent in the Post Office chatting to an old school friend and catching up as to what our children are doing. I'm glad i have seen her, we havent seen much of eachother lately.

Back home but i still havent really started on the housework (but at least ive had a bath). I'm not that warm to be honest.

    Hoppy Birdday to Redruby's DD:beer:

Beemuzed you're not boring us; please keep posting, I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to know how your DH is progressing, and how you are, too.:o

Should have made a lasagne for our lunch (Mr LW is wfh today) but I feel ghastly, both shoulders and arms hurt, left wrist is useless, even with the splint on, and I have really bad pins & needles in my right hand, so we had packet soup for lunch and Mr LW will help me do the lasagne tonight, as I won't be able to lift the saucepan myself.

We're supposed to go into town for some shopping when he finishes work (14:30) but tbh, I really don't feel well enough to go.:(
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

What she said ^^!Sometimes I feel like I dont have much OS to talk about either.I think part of that is because its so ingrained now,I feel like its boring if I rehash the same old stuff :o But i do like to hear how you all are.

I have just ordered some non slip dog boots for Leo.:DHe is having trouble walking on the wooden floor and kitchen tiles, and seems to have lost his confidence. He's ok on the carpets upstairs, and outside so I know its not medical as such, but he has pulled muscles and hurt his back before now, because he cant get the traction to get up sometimes and slips and slides like Bambi.Because he's such a big lad it takes 2 of us to get him up when his legs splay,so I did some research and found its actually quite a common problem, esp in older dogs,so we'll give these a try.Cant afford a carpet just for him,I keep sliding the rugs round anticipating his moves. The things we do for our pets eh?

    Happy Birthday Miss Ruby
Sorry you're feeling rough today LW.I thought of you the other day when I went in town and saw a lovely pic of some wolves:)

Am thinking I may stop posting here for a bit - simply because I really seem to do very little that's noteworthy OS wise at the minute. I still do washing, ironing etc etc - all the usual household chores - but I'm not even baking as much bread as usual since DH became ill. Life has just overtaken us and I really don't want to bore you all....on the other hand, can I manage without the cheery support?? Anyhow, I shall still try to read as often as possible and will pop in from time to time.
Hope you all have a great day. take care.

Don't you dare go running off.
I assume you read MY posts. Please feel free to find much of the OS there, doesn't stop me wittering on ;)

You're not boring anyone and I think given current circumstances you could do with the support, even if its just in the virtual capacity xxxx

House valued. EA has been instructed, coming tomorrow to take pics and measure up :j:j kids will be pleased as it means tree can go up Saturday :j not sure who's more excited actually :o

Rosyred do share pics of Leo in his new boots ;) hope they work for him. Failing that cheap yoga mats are good alternative but don't look quite so good as carpet.

LW gentle wolfy hugs hope you're feeling up to par ASAP xxx

Right off to wrap up warm to walk Luna, it's chilly out there!

  • Good afternoon all,
Not really felt like posting as i didn't feel great at all. Antibiotics have kicked in now so am feeling better.
Happy 18th birthday to Miss RR :bdaycake:.
My son is 23 today. It really is amazing how the time goes. It is his first birthday living with his girlfriend. It kind of felt strange not seeing him open his cards.
Bitsy, am glad Luna is on the mend.
Washing is on the airer. Washing in the machine again. Everywhere is tidy. DD wanted to cook dinner tonight but i have talked her out of it. I can't remember what she wasnted to cook but i know it involved buying beef. I told her i have plenty of chicken but that wasn't good enough. Instead i have said we will do some baking.
I hope everyone has a good rest of the day and hugs to those who need them.

    Bemuzzed

Lots of people have already put it better than I would - so please keep posting.

Treated dh and dd to chop, baked potato and peas for lunch and will make chicken tikka masala for tea tonight.

River looks very high so hope it does not flood again and that the bridge stays open.

Cold outside so after struggling back with bread, eggs and milk I decided to browse on here in peace for an hour before clearing up kitchen and prepping evening meal.

Happy birthday to redruby's dd :bdaycake:

    LameWolf

I hope you feel better soon and can do the things you want to get done.

    Hugs to all

    evening!

not had time to read yet and I'm off out shortly again but I wanted to wish RR's DD a very happy 18th birthday:bdaycake:

I made some of the wonderful mince pies from the recipe I got here at work today - as usual they went down a storm!:)(I had 2:o)

washing upto date just about. Easy tea - SF chicken from the freezer for DH. I'll have a snack later - fat club tonight.

I treated myself to a lovely stripey carpet runner today for my hall:) saw it outside our local carpet shop, its a Kidderminster one so is locally made.

Have a great evening all x
