Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 28 November 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning All

Seems you must all be busy today, usually this is started, even though I am an hour ahead if you. Very windy here this morning. Think we are all getting the effects from Hurricane Sandy.
:bdaycake: Ruby 18 - enjoy
Big ((hugs)) to you all, many are not up to par, and have a lick from Skye too.
OS wise, working my way through the fridge and freezer as we sett off back next Tuesday. Last night was a HM chicken breast stuffed with cheese and wrapped with bacon, with green beans, broccoli and potatoes, all courtesy of L!dl out here.
Other than that having a clean through, and getting everything washed, must tackle some ironing, and hope to get a couple of loads in and dry with the wind!
I must say I agree with Martin re the Christmas gifts, when we got married, both us and our brothers we hard up, so we made a kids only rule with them. Now we just do DS,GF, and Great Neice & Nephews. One set of their parents get us a token box of biscuits back from the kids, which is great, says thank you but doesn't break their bank. Between us we just get some bits for under the tree to open with DS & GF as they are with us this year :)
Have a good day. Take care all. DG

Morning ladies and any gents ;)

Been up to my eyeballs in crisis cleaning and getting my house looking like a show home for house valuers. No mean feat considering my two kids and an untidy husband
Last valuation today, I think I've already decided which on to go for but will make final decision after EA has gone this morning.
Will hopefully mean we can still put the Xmas decs up although am afraid for necessity this year they will be less of them, can't afford to give the house that cluttered look :o:o

Hardly any OS going on :o hoping things calm down a bit now and I can get back into it as we need to start stashing as much money away as possible. Difficult considering H is spending a small fortune in diesel

Tea should be......um......something I haven't decided yet. Am going shopping after EA has been so will see what's there to tickle my fancy.

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

ETA Miffy thanks for asking Luna is doing a lot better. She hasn't been sick for about two days, ravenously hungry so today is the first day back on her normal food :) how is Jack? We get a lot of rubbishy tum when Luna eats crap :/

Morning all, not too bad here this morning and luckily fields are dryer so not such a slippery walk for me and the pets this morning. Took Jack to vets , he has a flare up of his colitis from eating s**t so had an injection and tablets. He seems much better today so hopefully on the mend. Hope Luna is OK Bitsy and well done on getting your place beautiful. Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Now getting light, very wet underfoot but not raining here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was sausage, mash, onion gravy and veg, desserts from the tins or fridge for those that had room. Remembered to get the beef out of the freezer so we will be having beef stew and dumplings later.

Work was busy but not horrendous in the morning, then as we still had 2 people off sick we were really short staffed in the afternoon and the day just flew by, only working until lunchtime today then on days' off - so have all the normal list of chores to get done. Want to get some bits and pieces paid off using some of my inheritance - sooner it's paid off the less interest I'll pay! Have decided to pay off a certain few of my debts within the next week or so, then start getting quotes for replacing the bathroom - it's very 80s - which isn't really that much of a problem as it's completedly tiled floor to ceiling all round but toilet is broken and the bath has cracks in it - seems silly to keep struggling with these when I can have a complete replacement - also have the risk all the time of the these getting worse and creating a flood which could in the long term cause a flood and a lot of £s worth of damage - so that is top of the list at the moment! I will be keeping some and have been busily researching accounts/investments etc - what a mine field that is!

Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x

    Morning all,

Thank you so much for the good wishes for my dd 18 today :bdaycake:cant believe where the years have gone xx

Going to drop her off at the station this morning so that she can meet her mates, and then I shall meet her at lunch time and we will have lunch out and shopping. DD has requested tacos for dinner (her favourite) so thats what we shall have.

Early evening we will go and see my dad, and meet mum there, mum wants dad to se dd on her birthday.

We will do pressies tonight, so that the excitement lasts longer :D

Sistercas, I know what you mean about your dd, mine is the same, but I suppose they are young and have all that energy.

Need to tidy through this morning and do a couple of washes.

    Have good days all xx

    Happy Birthday Redruby's DD
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    No thanks:D

Nmic. If the bath or toilet were broken by accident, they may be covered by your house insurance.
