Morning all, not raining at the moment and no floods that I know of around here. Cold though.
My cousin arrives this morning so will pick her up at the station and then we are heading for a day out. She can only eat a restricted diet so stir fry for dinner is what she suggested. Not sure what she wants to do in Oxford but hoping to share my favourite museum (Pitt Rivers) with her, she's not a shopping fan so perhaps a tourist bus ride so we see the colleges. Partly depends on the weather. She's got to go back home tomorrow so we need to pack it in today. Am going to take my mega painkillers in advance so that I can keep going!
I think we will probably flop in front of a DVD tonight. (Hope so!) Failing that I'll see what's on at the local cinema.
Happy Birthday to Redruby's daughter......hope she has a wonderful day.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
Morning :hello:
Uolypool, fab news about the arrest
My day was interrupted yesterday, mum popped in for coffee and stayed for 3 hours, lol.
Tewkesbury is just up the road from me, as the water has nowhere to drain off to it'll probably come here in the next day or so. The river splits before it reaches us, we're about a mile away from one half then it joins back up a couple of miles away. It doesn't affect us at all. Glad I'm not on the other side of the canal. I know a couple of people over there, they can camp in my house if they need to get out.
My kids won't be getting anything for Christmas at this rate. I've asked them what they want (several times!) and all I get is "ummmm, don't know, I'll have a think" I'll quite happily spent the money on myself if they don't decide soon

Morning chums and Happy birthday to RR 's Dd 18 is a lovely age to be with all of your life in front of you Enjoy every minute as it flies by all to quickly.
All's well with me I'm just about to make some curry from LO cooked chicken that i bought yesterday from M&S a bargain at £3.00 I had some for dinner last night and will slice off the breast today and clingfilm it and freeze for sarnies later and the rest will be stripped for a curry.Lots of odds and ends from the fridge to go in there.
All my Christmas presents are bought now comes the chore of wrapping them all up.Then its settle down to make around 50 Christmas cards for all my friends and relations.Hopefully I will get this all done before the weekend then December will be only some baking and odds and ends to get.
Decorations go up on Saturday as they always go up the day before my eldest Dd Sheley's birthday this sunday.I have bought her a nice coat for her birthday which she will no doubt tell me off for but I like to buy her something just for her on her birthday and she is a good little lass .She is getting slowly better after her op. and yesterday phoned the school to get her friend to switch on her computer so she could do some work and Kim (her pal) said 'No way' as she is off work and she's not going to do anything at home until she feels much better, its only a couple of weeks and she was so cross and she can't drive there so she had to put her feet up and just relax:) its driving her potty but we are all refusing to let her do anything.
Right I'm off to make a start on the chicken curry ,my house will be smelling gorgeous shortly:) Have a good day everyone Take care

Morning all,
The sunshine fooled me this morning when i woke up. It looked so lovely, sunny and warm but i had a rude awakening when i went out to clean up after the dogs. I ran out and ran back in again twice as fast!
I'm late starting my jobs today though the beds have been stripped thats as far as ive got.
Need to sort out my medication as ive a less than a weeks worth of throxine which is strange as i ordered the same amount and at the same time as my other medication.
Need to pop into the post office too as i made a couple of sales on Ebay on Monday. Post Office shuts early on Wednesday so i had best get moving.
Have a great day all,This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all.
Happy 18th to Ruby's daughter.
Time flies. My daughter was 13 the weekend before last.
I couldn't sleep the night before last and so got up at 1.30 and took a sleeping tablet. Of course toddler got me up early, so felt dreadful all day. I did nothing.
The older 2 were still a bit poorly yesterday so I decided to keep them off school. Thank goodness I did. The roads were gridlocked. Due to flooding, 2 sets of traffic lights broken and a lorry crashing into a railway bridge. Was taking people 3 hours to do a 20 min journey.
Anyway all 3 kids to school / nursery today.
Been to the market and got some veg. £1 for 5lbs of potatoes. Good value, I thought.
Fish for dinner tonight. Will make some cauliflower cheese as well as have LO cauli from Sunday.
My bed is stripped so need to remake it. Also have ironing to do.
Need to go through the finances as well.
Got a thumping headache. Think am getting the kids bug.
Better go and get on before I need to pick toddler up for nursery.
Love, hugs and spoons to all

Good Morning All!
Very happy Birthday to Ruby's DD!
Judi - do you check your meds when you bring them home? DH has a monthly script for ten different items and on two occasions I've discovered one is either missing or incomplete. First time caused chaos as we didn't spot it wasn't there until we needed it - since then I just quickly count the packets to check every time.
Am thinking I may stop posting here for a bit - simply because I really seem to do very little that's noteworthy OS wise at the minute. I still do washing, ironing etc etc - all the usual household chores - but I'm not even baking as much bread as usual since DH became ill. Life has just overtaken us and I really don't want to bore you all....on the other hand, can I manage without the cheery support?? Anyhow, I shall still try to read as often as possible and will pop in from time to time.
Hope you all have a great day. take care.Resolution:

Morning all,
Happy Birthday to Redrubys DD
Hope you are well.
A quidkie from me today. Need to do some cleaning and fit in a walk.
This afternoon I will cook a lasagne and raspberry and coconut pie as my db and dsil are coming for tea and it's their favourite.
It will be our mini Christmas as I won't see them until we return from Oz in January.
Anyway the sun is shining and it's nice and bright so shall enjoy my walk.

Hugs to allMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Morning all.
This is a displacement activity, I should be magazining.
I think I have all Christmas presents organised now - quite easy because I only give to the very young and the very old. Now comes the wrapping!!!!!!! Everyone knows which are my presents, they are the ones with bits of sellotape stuck all over the place, bits of paper sticking out at odd angles and bits of present peeping shyly through the gaps.
Now I can concentrate on the presents for Open Arms. Last year I gave them all socks, one of which held all the gifts. This year they are all going to get a mug filled with little tubes of shampoo, hand cream, shower gel etc, plus sweets and chocolate bits. Its huge fun gathering up all the bits and pieces.
The Rev is out until this afternoon and she has asked for jackets, ham and salad again. What she is actually going to get is ham, cauliflower cheese and wedges. The piece of gammon I got is bigger that I realised and is going to do loads of meals.
I also have a long overdue letter to write, some washing to put in, a spill in the flour cupboard to clear up and a box from AF to unpack and put away. It looks as though the displacement activities may well take most of the day. With a bit of luck.
Happy 18th RRs DD.
Bitsy: Good Luck with the viewings and enjoy the immaculate house!

Morning All
Happy 18th Birthday to Miss RR
Beemuzed don't feel like that, keep posting, even if it is just a quick hello x
Grey, cold and windy here and we have had rain this morning.
I have just spent the last half an hour sorting the big freezer so that all the Christmas stuff is now on the left hand side so it is easy to see what I have left to get, so I have written my list and will get most of it tomorrow.
DH is taking me down to the market on Saturday to pick up some fruit and veg.
I hate this time of year, because I can't get out much, believe me you really feel the cold when you are on a scooter, it just shows how cold babies in prams and pushchairs feel.
Off to start dinner in a mo, as you know we eat our main meal at lunch time when we are all here, it saves me washing up late at night and I don't like to leave it until morning, it is one of my pet hates. Anyway it is Chicken Crumble which is one of DS's favourites. I will make a pot of butternut soup for later for if anyone feels peckish.
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
