You see, i don't understand why you would order an English breakfast in a New York hotel. I'd want an American breakfast, i can have all the english breakfasts i want at home.
Doesn't a typical American breakfast have more or less the same items as a 'Full English'?
Eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, Coffee etc etc............!0 -

Think yourself lucky you got some food. My partner and I went shopping in Morrisons last Sat. Decided to have a meal in the cafe.
Stood there waiting to be served, and the girl behind the counter was telling the man in front "We ain't doing lunch" He said "Am I not able to order anything" She replied "No"
We just left the pots of tea we'd got ready on a tray and walked out.
This was just gone midday too. Shame, I really fancied a Christmas dinner.0 -

You shouldn't have a Xmas dinner in November. That rude assistant saved you from committing a massive social faux pas.

Similar happened to me in Spain (was out for a chinese). Ordered a salad, plain rice and a chicken dish. Salad arrived and i left it to one side and chatted while i waited for the rest. A few minutes later the waiter asked what was wrong with the salad. One explanation later and he looked genuinely confused at my request but said no problem and brought the rest out.
I wondered for quite a while if eating a plain boiled rice was considered normal out there.0
