Morrisons Cafe near cheated !!!

Hi
Hope im posting in correct place.
Just wanted to say went to morrisons cafe today. Really studied the menu before ordering and wanted something cheap so opted for the scrambled egg on toast at £1.89.
But then i noticed that buying a portion of toast at 69p and a portion of scrambled egg at 79p worked out cheaper. = £1.48.

Difference of 41p. I asked the lady when ordering why is it the scrambled egg on toast is more, she said, "well it does contain a tomato"
Wow - i dont think half a tomato costs 41p?!

Just thought id let people know that mixing up the menu a bit can be cheaper!

I also noticed today the bread used for toast was extremely thin, like no frills bread. Very unusual - it is usually lovely thick stuff.

Scrambled egg on toast shouldn't include tomato.

I would expect it to have two rounds of toast though.

OH and I were in another town this summer early one evening and spotted that the cafe at a big Morrisons on a retail park was still open.

As I low carb for my diabetes I can't eat toast and sausages with a high filler content make me feel woozy. I ordered eggs, bacon and mushrooms and I was charged less.

I've done this at Sainsbury's several times and my food arrived on one plate. At Morrisons it arrived as it was cooked on separate side plates so I got mushrooms followed by bacon followed by eggs. Weird.

The tomato - with a squirt of HP Sauce - does add to the taste!

Their meat free breakfast - fried egg, 2 hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans, tomato and a slice of toast - is better value at £2.79.

I remember my old boozer doing food for a while. You could have a jacket potato with various fillings with an extra filling charged at 50p. A potato with beans was £2.30 whilst one with cheese was £2.50. It was therefore cheaper to order 'a jacket with beans and cheese' than 'a jacket with cheese and beans'. :D

They were so dozy; despite our pointing out this pricing discrepancy, they still didn't understand. I was told 'but beans are cheaper than cheese, innit'.

But if beans and cheese was 70% beans and 30% cheese

and cheese and beans was 70% cheese and 30% beans

    it would make sense!
