Having 'inadvertantly donated' vast quantities of my mum and dad's nightwear and underwear each time they had a stay in hospital, I've decided if something of mine goes missing I shall report it as stolen and demand an investigation. Fight fire with fire, I say. Hearing aids aren't usually marked but if they're NHS ones they remain the property of the NHS and allegations of theft of NHS equipment are taken very seriously.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

How many of you have seen/experienced this situation:question:
    as experienced by Savvy_Sue.........
"She was moved to my ward from another one,
and did not seem to know where she was,
    or what was going on.
And once the nurse who brought her in had left,
no-one seemed to come near her for hours!

    did you ?
    (and have other peeps)?
noticed that people who have the most visitors, get the most attention:question:
I think this is extra worrying...it's just like they don't care...unless they are seen to be caring!!
when you have to travel a long way to visit,
when something causes you to be late
or you can't be there for all visits or even every day

It also makes you feel guilty and that you should be doing more,
even though you know you are doing your best
    Isn't it sad
    :cry::angry:

this is someones child/mum/ gran /sister etc ...
this is someone with a lifetime of experiences ...
perhaps they have no one who can or will be there for them ...
    perhaps they can't remember !!!!
It must be frightening and heartbreaking to be in that situation
Why can't people show some empathy
and make an effort to show a bit of caring and compassion,
after all a few kind words an :hello:
or a  cost nothing and can make such a difference :grouphug:

  So all you peeps on MSE .... HAVE A  :happyhear:happyhear

AND WHENEVER YOU HAVE TO GO TO A HOSPITAL

    STOP ..... L@@K ..... AND ..... LISTEN ...

    whenever you can

you might just see a chance to make a difference to someone

    Hi all,

Just thought I'd post a quick update as you've all been very helpful throughout this.

To be honest, things aren't going too well. Grandad is still in the hospital he had the op done in, they were planning to move him this week but he had a fall whilst being transferred from bed to wheelchair and this caused his wound to reopen. He was taken into emergency surgery to restitch, and is now recovering from that. In the process of the fall he broke two ribs and has extensive bruising.

Added to the above, the hospital have now told us he has caught MRSA. He is on antibiotics for this and it is now really just a case of waiting to hear day to day.

I just wanted to say, thanks once again for all the support I have received on here. You've all been amazingly caring and I appreciate all the messages of support and advice.

Will let you know how he goes on when I have any further news.

    Thanks again,

    Sarah xxx

I am sorry it is not exactly good news, but thank you for letting us know! Hope your grandad continues to improve.
