Morning all, today's work was canceled last night so am going to do some christmas preparations. I've lost track of who I have bought for and who I haven't. Will also finish clearing the cupboard under the stairs of clutter and only put back what's NEEDED.
Yesterday I got loads done in the house so am on a bit of a roll here.
Will do a bit of baking later (muffins) to make use of the hot oven needed for dinner......chicken stuffed with garlic cheese and I thought I'd roast the potatoes too. I'm thinking that once the oven is up to heat it's good use to do as much as possible in it rather than baking at a different time.
Started the blanket using up my old scraps of wool, but it's a bit stiff so may turn it into a rug! Or unpick it and use bigger needles to make it looser.
More staffing problems with the carers at my son's house. His key worker has some problems dealing with the challenges my son presents and has been moved to a different house te same care provider runs. they plan to support him carefuly as it looks like it may be linked with his history in the army. Possibly some sort of post-traumatic stress problem, but that's just an amateur assessment. Really sad about this as he was really, really excelent in all other ways and I don't want him to suffer because of my son. I think very, very highly of him and am gutted that my son has lost him. Replacement is likely to be a young woman who has lots of experience with my son and I am sure she will do a great job. Change is so difficult for my son to cope with so we may have an increase in incidents while he deals with this. Why is life never simple?????
    Have a good day all.

    Morning all,

Dry here at the moment but feels colder.V soggy underfoot for dogwalking.
Judi- I'm another one got up in the night by DDog.Then I couldnt get back to sleep as DH started snoring so went into the spare room.
DS2 didnt have the op on his nose after all.He was talking to the nurse saying it was much better recently,so she got the surgeon to have a word and they agreed to leave it for the time being and see how he goes on.His brother went to pick him up & he was back home at 10.30,so we went in town to each do a few things then met up for a coffee before coming home.
Didnt have the mince so will have that tonight-remembered some left over curry from Sat and had that.
I have some letters and emails to do for DH,then want to start painting in the kitchen.Need to mop the floor too as DGD is coming later and its full of muddy paw prints .
Happy birthday to those celebrating over the next few days-sounds like there are quite a few :j

Moorhen belated birthday wishes for dd2:D
Judi hope you get a nap today,
Thanks for starting the thread Miffy
Sorry if I've missed anyone hugs if you need one.

Dh and I are not on the best of terms at the moment. He is worried that this holiday is costing too much and I agree but it's just one of those things we can't miss. I'm sure he will calm down but I think having nearly five weeks off work is making him panick, he's never had this long off since he started work at 16 and is a really hard worker. Oh well we will be on the plane in 8 days he will have to relax then.
Had a scrumy tea last night. Found one of those bags with seasoning in a the back of cupboard so cooked some chicken mushrooms and peppers in it and we had it with rice and a few sweet roast potatoes, delish.
Managed to get up to date with all my washing and the last lot is on the maiden.
Have db and dsil for tea tomorrow and we are going to exchange pressies as we will be away. Plan to make lasagne garlic bread and wedges. Dessert will be jam and coconut pie with custard, their favourite.
Off to browse the job boards, see if there is anything I can apply for before we go away.
Weather is good here compared to a lot of areas, just cold and damp.
Anyway best get on, have a good day all x

    Good Morning Everyone.
Still wet and miserable here, but we are so lucky that we have none of the dreadful conditions we see on the TV screen.
DH decided to walk the dogs this morning and apart from some tingling in his fingers and being a bit too tired to do the full walk he was fine.
I'm drifting a bit just now - loads to do that I'm resolutely ignoring!
Can't get my head round preparations for Christmas...do I even want a cake/let alone make one? Ho hum!
May choose three things to do today...and hope one gets at least thought of! Maybe my OS leanings have vanished temporarily??
Anyway, will stop mithering and wish you all a good day! Take care.

    Hi all

Late getting online today – been busy trying to dust the lounge one-handed; not the easiest task!

Miffy oh, poor Jack; hope the vet can get to the bottom of his affliction.

    Hoppy Birdday to Sistercas's DD1:beer:

Uolypool words fail me:mad: – I honestly think Facebook and Twitter make it far too easy for people to treat each other badly. Your poor DS! Doesn't matter what his sexual orientation is, no-one should have their face copied and pasted onto p0rn, gay or otherwise. I am so angry for him. Glad to see that the little pond-life has been arrested.

Judi I started out saying no dogs in the bedroom; but we've had guests who sleep with their owners, including one whose “bed” was just a thin blanket, so I couldn't ask him to sleep on the hard kitchen floor on just that.:o And Mr LW is no help – he lets then come in the bedroom,:D so I've given up now:o – Dylan would start off in his bed in the kitchen, and during the night wander into the bedroom and lie on the Chinese rug.... and snore!:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
