You'll most likely have to buy out the rest of your contract at £15 x 9 months = £135 as well as pay the £37 per month and the £100 up front for the iphone.
You may get a discount but it's unlikely they'll let you off it all.
And at the £235 he is almost halfway to buying a handset outright and retaining his low monthly charge and the extra £22 per month is the other half to his handset
