The middle quote I think is taking a slightly difference approach, that is quoting for usig a 904 flexible flue liner with a twin wall chinmey extension with lead ridge flashing....
Does that sound a better option??
Can I ask why you dont think that vit enamelled pipe would be a good option??
I will pm Hethmar as you suggest but thank you, its good to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about!
One last question (making the most of having your attention) what are your thoughts on putting a panel of calcium silicate at the back of the stove. The back wall of the fireplace is all uneven and it was suggsted that a panel of this was fitted to make it tidy?
Having re read your earlier post...they will be lining with flexable liner then adapting to vit enamel to the stove through the register plate....makes perfect sence now - I miss read ! doh !
The pricing again can alter drastically depending on the liner quality, twin flex liner comes as two different grades.
316 / 316 - 316 / 904 - 904 / 904
The 904 is the expensive good quality liner and the 316 being the premium option, guarantees vary as well according to the grade 904 being upto 25 years and 316 upto 10 years, price wise I have seen prices for 904 at £65 + and 316 at £25 + that is supplied direct so if they are supplying obviously they will want their cut on it.
As for the back of the fire, all I have done is render the brickwork with a strong sand and cement mix which is obviously the cheaper option there, fireboard can be used - slate panels I have seen used as well as stone. I have also seen tiled areas around stoves as well. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Arrr it is making a little more sense now, so middle quote mentions stove pipe with sweeping hatch but lower quote doesnt mention anything, so I assume that the one with the sweeping hatch will fit straight to the top of the stove, probably be black and then the flexi fuel will be attached to that. Whereas the vit enam will just go straight onto the top of the stove, I assume that this is not black! If I have understood then could see why it would be unslightly! Would def need to check this out with company!0

The vit pipe would be black, almost all are as they are enamelled.
Sweep access that what I like to hear

Again, thanks
The fitter that quoted for the 904 liner told me that if I had 316 liner then I would only be able to burn wood on it. I told him that I wanted to burn wood and smokeless fuel so he said that I would HAVE to have 904...is that correct?0 -
You can burn smokeless fuel with a 316 so as long as it has a low sulphur. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

At least this fitter is being honest in that some smokeless fuels are more corrosive and 904 would be better able to withstand these corrosive elements. Some would no doubt fit 316 and blame you if problems occur later.
Installation wise the fitting is the same, so the extra cost per meter of 904 versus 316 is your choice but I would fit 904 regardless. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you! :dance:0
