I know that this differs to the average opinion on here, but I think you should pay half of the joint bills. However, I think you should pay 25% of the council tax bill (with your OH paying 50%) and the 25% discount covering the rest. Does he ever treat you to dinner or anything nice? Or is everything 50/50?

Oh dear, I'd say the balance is definitely off! I live with my OH and pay 50% of everything, though he earns 3 times what I do. However, I get treated with meals out and small little presents so it all feels fair. You def need to speak to him about this...

  • I thought you had to do a year as an "NQT" (Newly Qualified Teacher) before you became a "fully qualified" teachers and could then do supply? I could be wrong, but I'm sure this was the case with Mrs Dither when she passed her PCGE many moons ago.

Hello, I haven't been on here for ages

You can do up to three terms supply as an NQT (I think it's three, you might want to check) after that you have to find a more permanent job so that someone can do all your observations for you and turn you into a QT (like superman in the phone box)
