Ketchup red - a bit washed out really - not really red or pink or orange.

Left CARNATION PINK - right KETCHUP

Received a reply from Kipling about the dodgy stitching on my Fairfax. Basically they are saying I can have a repair or replacement but I have to pay to return the bag to them.

The problem is I've lost confidence in them now. The fact that Amazon have sent me 2 bags with the same fault (to varying degrees), and I've chosen to keep the one that I thought was the better of the 2, I don't want to risk sending it off and maybe getting one that is worse in exchange.

I think I'll just keep the one I have, but they didn't acknowledge the damage to the brand at all. :(

On a separate note, if someone can tell me how to post a photo, I have a bag in Ketchup, also one in Carnation and one in Royal Red, so I could show a pic for comparison. Sorry I can't figure out how to post the pic. :o

Nuttygirl - I think the bottom pic best reflects Ketchup - not too bad a colour but a bit washed out and to me not really one thing or the other.

ScaredyCat - what a cheek - a repair on a brand new bag - are they mad? And why should you have to pay for the return. Looked yesterday for the two bags I have and the only option is the Collect+ - unless I get involved in long negotiations for a pick up - they slipped that change is quietly enough didn't they? Did email and ask the other day but no response to that.

Re photos - as far as I can see the picture has to be hosted somewhere online first - like a blog or website - I don't think you can upload straight from you pc - well I cannot anyway.

I always find live chat the most helpful on Amazon, be polite but firm I have always had a good result with live chat.

7roland8 - yes, they did slip it through quietly - I suppose it's because of the Royal Mail price increases. :( I sent the worst of the 2 Fairfax bags back by Collect+ on Sunday (hubby dropped it off at a local garage) and I've still not had any acknowledgement.

Having had 2 with faults I just don't trust them to send me a better one, and I don't want the hassle of going back and forth over it. I think the one I've kept is 'ok' given that I got it cheap, but no way is it worth full price. The thing is I'm assuming all the Flash Blue Fairfax's will have been made in the same factory, so I'm not convinced an exchange will be any better. Might have a look at the ones my local Collectables has in stock next time I'm passing, and see what they are like. Still - this has damaged the brand in my eyes, and I'm suprised they don't seem bothered by that. Maybe it is something best brought up on facebook.

Thanks for the help over the photo. I used to use photobucket but they seem to have changed something and now I can't even get in so can only upload directly from the SD card.

Re the colours though, Ketchup is nice, but yes it is a bit of a washed out colour. On QVC they described it as 'earthy' and that's quite accurate really, a sort of earthy red. The Royal Red is my favourite, it's like a really deep pink/red, rich and vibrant.

TBH I would return if I wasn't happy with a bag, might be worth cheering yourself by going to TKMaxx if oyu have one nearby and looking at some in the flesh.

If you post on fb let us know and we can comment too.

My fave red is also the royal red, DD has a laptop case in this and it is gorgeous.

Just seen but not checked - 20% off code on certain fashions again - all the Kipling bags are listed here and the code is on the page.

Not sure if that link is right - here is another.
