    Found you all

Natty good luck, thanks Dk and Jue xxx

    Daily stuff done
Moved my running machine as it is not being used, so I have to fall over it and make sure I get on it, as I am putting weight back on, can I cannot have that as the nurse will put me back on Type 2 tablets!!

Next thing my dishwasher, after 25 years had died, it will cost £150 or so to put right and may not last for 6 months, so I am thinking of a new one, stand alone, ie not fixed into the slot the current one is in, and big enough for 2 to 4 people / place settings, so what would you all recommend / do you have / don't touch with a barge pole as yours has given you nothing but trouble.

This one is / was a neff and has been great over the years, but I know there are newer / modern / enery efficient ones out there. I have no idea of price, but I do have my eby / car booting money from this year stashed away.

All appointments were gone at the drs and I'm not in the right frame of mind to sit and wait.

Kids taken to school. DS1 wouldn't get up and missed the college bus again. Really concerned about him now. He's not in a good place.

DW unloaded, WM x 2. Washing up done, sink bleached. Downstairs loo cleaned. I'm attempting to clear out the shoe cupboard by the front door. A lot of chucking has taken place. We have so many pairs of football boots. I'm going to give them a good clean and pass them on to others with smaller feet. DS3 is too far behind to save them for 6 years.
Now to get the Hoover in the cupboard. I wish I had the skills of Houdini.

Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round

Extra tasks if you want to do more
    • Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
    • Clean out and organize one drawer, more if you like
    • Check the freezer, see what needs using up

Morning flyers - thanks for the list Natty

It's wet and wild here today - yuk!

So far the WM is on.

I paired up the socks yesterday and I have about 30 singles so I've been on my hands and knees trying to hunt for their partners. This means I've given myself a few frogs in the process as I've emptied DS's built-in shelving/cupboards and dumped it in the middle of the floor and I'll have him try EVERYTHING on tonight as I think he's had a growth spurt and it also gives me a chance to get into the cupboard with the hoover and see what's lurking.

I then went into the cupboard at the end of the hall (dumping ground) and tidied that out too.

DD tried on her fleeces yesterday and either my new superduper TD has shrank them or she's had a spurt too, so I reckon she'll have to try all her stuff on tonight. Seems like on 2 minutes since we did this - I can't believe how much they are growing right now. The good thing is I can buy new stuff and treat it as Christmas presents so they have more to open on Christmas Day and I can take the old stuff to cashforclothes and weigh it all in.

Enough waffle - time for morning coffee and then I'll take the dog out.

I'm going to move all my lovely cookery books out of the pantry and put them in Mum and Dad's bureau which is sitting in the corner of the lounge looking a little "empty" and I can than enjoy looking at both items with fondness. Also means I can get stuff off the pantry floor and utilise the shelves better. - DONE

    Found you all

so what would you all recommend / do you have / don't touch with a barge pole as yours has given you nothing but trouble.

Pre-children, in my old house, I had a slimline Zanussi for just the 2 of us and it never let me down. Sadly it was built-in so couldn't bring it with me.

In my next house I had a Bosch Classixxx for the 4 of us and it lasted 15 years until we moved into this current house with dodgy electrics and it fried!!!!!

I would recommend either of those.

I hope your son is okay - he sounds proper down in the dumps from your posts. Does he have someone he can talk to, or do you know of someone you could lean on for support and ask them to have a chat with him? It's always a worry when someone you love "closes down". Believe me, I'm talking from experience.

Regarding the football boots. I don't know about your area, but what our rugby club here does is this - You give your no-longer-fitting boots to them as a donation. They clean them up, put new laces and studs in and then sell them onto another parent for £2 (enough to cover the costs of laces & studs) and then you buy the next size up for £2. It works to everyone's advantage as some of the teenage boys can go up 3 sizes in a season when they're on a growth spurt and at £30-£60 a pop for a pair of boots, it''s flipping expensive. This is maybe a tip for all you parents out there to suggest to your local clubs. It's saved me a fortune this last 6 years.

    Hope this helps

    Good morning all

    Thanks, Natty, for the list.

Hope those of you in flooded or flood-threatened areas are coping. Somehow we've got blue sky and sunshine again, and we're well above river level, but I keep thinking of people whose "flying" today consists of water pumping and mud scraping.

kazwookie, I liked the Bosch dishwasher I had in my old house - very energy-efficient, rated A+. They do both full-size and slimline. Not the cheapest but in my opinion the best. Here we inherited a Zanussi full-size, built in. It works OK most of the time on the quick wash but sometimes misses lumps at the bottom of mugs (eg hot chocolate, soup), depending on where they are put.

bossymoo, hope your granny is comfortable.

wendywitch, here, have a stick for your BD.

TattyG, we're having fish pie tonight too :D

pigpen, men are hopeless at reading our minds (my DH certainly is).

I'll be lurking behind you all this week as I've got loads of paperwork to do and no energy to do anything else apart from trying to keep my big mouth firmly under control with DH - at present we seem to end up with misunderstandings over every silly little thing. He is going through another bad patch and can't even motivate himself to make important phonecalls, and he's not doing himself any favours with regard to finding himself a new job :(

Yesterday I somehow managed to list about 15 things on eB@y so hope to declutter some more of the [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] valuables currently cluttering up the study and reclaim some of my space.

(((Hugs))) to all who need them.
