Good Luck Coxes Orange!
Keeping this thread updated has really encouraged me to keep track of my money, hope it helps you too.If you don't like where you are - move. You are not a tree.0 -
I didn't want them cleaned every week he just kept coming back! I'm sure some weeks he came twice, cheeky individual.
Sack him, he's taking advantage. In your circumstances you can clean the lower ground floor windows yourself then pay someone quarterly to do the upstairs.
Is he a mate of your ex?0 -
While I'm very much with atush on getting your iPad back, if that's not an option, could you at least report it lost and get the phone company to block the SIM? No more nasty surprises on the data usage...£62...what a cheek!import this0

I agree.
and how often does he pay you child maintenance? If is more than you pay for the Ipad?0 -

Did you see if you could get Vodafone to agree to doing any of the following that I mentioned in post 8?:If not and you continue to have problems with getting the money as promised, could you not contact Vodafone and try to get the contract reduced to the cheapest tariff possible until it expires. Its worth trying to see if they would allow that.
Failing that ask to have the data allowance capped to whats included in the contract fixed at £30, so there is no possibility to go over the data allowance, then hopefully you wont have any unexpected surprises when you get your bill in the future.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -

Hopefully I won't be seeing him again, and no, he's not a mate, he just does quite a few of the houses in our road.
Haven't cancelled the contract with Vodafone, but have had a few pennies from the ex recently towards the bill. Not covered the full amount outstanding yet but at least we're moving in the right direction. If you don't like where you are - move. You are not a tree.0 -
Just sent off some bits I sold on eBay, making me £14.47 profit (After fees and postage). Also withdrawn £20.70 from my Top Cash Back account, so extra pennies to add to the savings pot
Thought I'd done a fairly big shop in Tesco today, re-stocking the freezer and cupboards after only doing little shops for essentials over the last few weeks. After deducting a few vouchers I had it only came to about £18 so I was quite pleased with that. Got loads of stuff reduced in the bakery section so my freezer is now full of tasty treats, including cranberry and orange hot cross buns mmmmmm :cool2:

Hello Everyone.....
Well it's been a bit of an expensive week. I used some of the money from my 'Little Luxuries' pot to go out for dinner and drinks with friends. I don't tend to go out in the evenings very often so that was a nice treat.
I've also been stocking up on nappies. They're normally £12 per box in ASDA but they have been on offer - 2 for £14. I originally tried ordering from asda direct online but they had sold out. They were still showing as in stock on the groceries website so I ordered from there, to be delivered along with a few other bits and pieces. Asda then had to cancel the delivery twice due to the snow, each time promising a £10 discount voucher and free delivery, but when I checked my account not all of the promised vouchers were there. I emailed them to explain the situation and they gave me £35 worth of vouchers plus free delivery, as a gesture of goodwill.Overall, with multi-by savings and discount vouchers I have had 8 boxes of nappies, plus two boxes of baby wipes, all for £29! They haven't actually charged my card yet but once they do the money will be coming out of the 'Little Luxuries' pot.
Only had a couple of £s left from the weekly budget at the end of last week (has a couple of presents to buy as well as normal shopping), but they went into the savings pot, as did the money claimed from Top Cash Back. I've ordered £25 paypal from Swagbucks but still waiting for that to come through, that too can go towards replenishing the savings pot.
Not sure how many pennies I'll be able to save from this week's budget as it's my mum's birthday and the car needs more petrol, but I'm waiting on payment for a few bits on eBay, and have more things listed to end at the weekend, so fingers crossed.
I tried the 'make £10 per day' challenge from one of the other MSE threads, with a more conservative target of £2.50 per day, and am very pleased with myself, having made £180.76 this month! Looking forward to trying this challenge again in February, think I might up the target to £5 per day.If you don't like where you are - move. You are not a tree.0 -

Hello MM
. After you posted on my diary I thought I would nip across to give you a wave and cheer you on. But now I've just realised - I'M ON THE SAVINGS AND INVESTMENTS BOARD:eek:!!
I've never strayed over here before (and I'm half expecting Security to come along shortly, take one look at my sig and shoo me back to the DFWs) so I've taken the opportunity to have a look around - and I like it! In fact I've bookmarked this place for 2023, by which point I will have worked my way up from the debt-free wannabes, via the mortgage-free wannabes, to here
.
I've read all your thread and it's interesting to see the financial logic at work here; people advising you to pay off all your debts before building up savings pots. I completely understand the reasoning behind that, and in your circumstances I'm sure it is 100% good advice. But it shows the mindset difference between people in debt and those who aren't - to us DFWs, little savings pots are the stuff of dreams and let us sleep at night!
Anyway, congrats on everything you've acheived and I will keep popping back to see how it's going for you xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
Debt Dec 11: Unsecured £69,579 + Mortgage £59,948 = £129,527
Debt May 21: Unsecured ZERO! ZILCH! Mortgage £22,3320
