Thank you all for your support.

It's all I've been thinking of all day and I'm just exhausted. I've seen this coming for so long and have gone through phases of dealing with it well, or trying to, making a little headway, and it's all gone horribly wrong.

My debts are somewhere in the region of <God I can hardly say it without feeling sick and so ashamed> £35K.

    How did this happen?

I earn £45K so I have money coming in. Because of this CCCS won't help me - I've asked them, called and talked on the phone and they've basically told me they can't help. I have £2600 coming in a month, it's just my repayments and my arrears fees etc, and the fact that I'm starting the month in the red pretty much means the salary just vanishes in about 2 weeks and then I've 2 more weeks to go, and so by the time the next salary comes in, I'm several hundres pounds further in the hole. It's just getting worse and worse.

    I'm so so ashamed.

I'm in the process of claiming fees back from my bank but they've told me that they're defendning in full and I've now been referred to my local county court. No date as yet, but I'm afraid they'll win, and I so need this money. My fee claim is for £5K which would make such a dent in my debts, I almost feel like I'd beg the judge if it went to court.

What am I going to do? I can't sleep at night, I'm taking double the dose of sleeping pills just to get to sleep at the moment.
  • Oh honey :(

Its not as bad as it seems.

And your debts are small compared to some on here ;)

1st of all so we can help you a little bit.

    Post us all your incomings.

Then all your outgoings. Up in the stickys in southernscousers newbiw thread there is help on compiling your statements of means.

we are calm (well my kids are creating havoc but I can pretend ;)) so we will be able to see where you can save & what you can do.

Take baby steps & you will dig yourself out of this hole.

Loads of people on here have done so & SO WILL YOU!

OK. Well, I'd point out £35,000 debt really isn't all that large compared to some people here, and you have a good income, so it should be possible to sort things out.

Now, we need a SOA before we can really help. Go up to the "New posters read this" thread up the top of the forum.

CCCS wouldn't help me though Toplass. I emailed them and they called me back, we chatted and the women told me that because my incomings covered my outgoings there was nothing they could do.. And there the conversation ended :(

I'm in my thirties !!!!!! this is ridiculous. I'm on the edge of I don't know what. But I'm really scared.

I'll try an SOA will I. Although there's so much going on I'm not sure I can see everything clearly. I'm so sick of all this worry and lying to everyone and not having enough money at the end of the month to buy lunch, or toothpaste or milk. :embarasse

    Hi,

theres nothing on here for car, xmas, birthdays, haircuts, going out etc, can you include these? is the £60 on food all you spend?

also, can I ask how come your rent is so high but your council tax is so low? I've never seen council tax quoted on here at less than £85

your total outgoings according to this are £1545, so I make £1055 left over, where is this going?

o, and also open a new account with a bank that you have no connection to, get your wages paid into that and start paying back your overdrafts bit by bit.

thing is, if you owe your current bank money they could take a chunk of your wages if they felt like it.

  • Right, you spend £820 on living expenses.
Without being harsh where does the rest of your salary ( £1780) go?
I know some of it is going on your debts, £725 ( I assume these are minimum repayments) but that still gives you over £1000 disposable income a month.
Now that is more than some people on here earn in a month, and they have debts like yours so this is easily do able.
You need to really analyse where all that money is going, are you saving some because if so don't bother, you need to get rid of your debt first. Do you have other outgoings, car etc? If so you need to put those in your SOA.
wE CAN HELP, BUT ONLY IF YOU CAN WORK OUT WHERE ALL THAT MONEY IS GOING, FOR EXAMPLE THAT £82 CREDIT CARD COULD EASILY BE GONE IN A MONTH...(sorry for capitals!)
You could also if possible transfer some of that high interest credit ard debt to the lower one. I know you say you have bank arrears but it would do no harm to ask the 5% credit card if you could transfer anything to them.
Now can you make any money by e baying or joining quidco? That's mostly how I got rid of my debt, it was much less than yours but I earnt half of what you do and I managed to get rid of it within eighteen months.
Do give us further details so we can go on from there.
