What if you don't have internet?

Personally though, Internet would be the last thing I gave up, especially if job hunting. I'd give up tv licence first
I could give up lovefilm, beans on toast 5 nights instead of 2 and I could keep internet. Internet seems to be the best option for getting work. Decision made and feeling less stressed. Many thanks.0 -
local libraries will be better than the central libraries which often have absurd 20 min limits.
Speak to your job centre, they will have contracted providers who will have facilities like internet, printers, envelopes etc. I think my job centre now has computers you can use so perhaps yours does to.
I agree that the internet and a basic computer is now an necessity. I would sell my TV and mobile in order to get a PC and internet.0 -
All of the branch libraries round here have free to use computers although they can be quite busy.
Our newly refurbished central library, in the middle of town, has free wifi so if you have a laptop or phone you can use that all day. Registration was free. It is also warm, comfortable and has plenty of books to read!!0 -

If you research prices then ring up your current ISP and threaten to cancel you may well be offered a discount!0 -
Our local Asda has a McDonalds which has free wi-fi maybe buy a cuppa make it last ages and take your laptop (that's if you got one ):A :shocked: :A0

A lot of places have free WiFi these days. You can park-up close to the shop/pub/fast food joint to get a signal and then surf to your hearts content. One word of caution though. Most of these joints use Lynksys WRT56G WiFi routers and these when used in 'unsecured' mode do not work with Ipads or Windows 7 powered kit with Atheros wireless chipsets in.
As an alternative, try Samba Mobile. The initial cost is £25 for a dongle, but the use is free. All you need to do is build up your credit by watching adverts. You get 3.5Mb per advert (and the advert does not come out of your accrued balance either). Some adverts can pay an extra few Mbs. Certainly cheaper in the long run.0 -
There are many places that do internet job search for free, I think the library is the best bet for the information on services in your area, although I would be prepared for a long wait to get on the computers.0

maybe give the coffee a mis,s as a coffee each visit would cost more than internet access, as the JSA agreements state you need to search every day.0 -
Larger Tesco shops have free WiFi, you just use your clubcard number to log on.0

Well said! I hardly watch TV anymore and thats saying something as I was one of the biggest addicts on the planet. Now I find it boring compared to the internet. Besides, the internet has youtube
Plus you can do your job searches online and so many other things.
Who needs a TV? They're so old fashioned..0
