Keep going with the cut backs Shiny..it 'll make a difference

Last month or so I cancelled loads of charity DDs..hated it but still give to some and until I claw my way out of this debt hole it's the right thing to do. I also cancelled all DDs into the kids saving accounts. it will make a £000+ saving EVERY month..that I can throw and do throw at debt.

Re budgets I find a Budgetbrain (via homepage here) thorough.

Will be looking for house insurance soon and will try and do that via a cash back site. Another job for the next weekend or so!

    Have a great day

Just an update as time has been flying by.

I struggled for a few months then in May, after I'd changed bank accounts, I approached all my credit card companies and banks with overdrafts and agreed a temporary payment plan. It's given me time to breathe but I am finding it really hard to stick to a budget.

It all started ok, I was saving £130 a month to cover the car mot, tax, and annual bills. Then it all went wrong with unbudgeted repairs, new carseat for the bubba and the funds are gone. In November I have my car due for a service and MOT with no savings to cover the unknown total! I've been selling things on eBay and now have £80 set aside and hopefully I'll find a few more things to sell.

I'm really hooked on mysupermarket at the moment, and the cashback apps like shopitize, quick snap etc. Although I have a cashback in dispute at the moment through mysupermarket as theire website indicated half price back in cashback, yet the app mysuperlist didn't! It may be just £3 but it's a lot to me.

The positive is that my debts have not got bigger. Had I not done anything they would have grown by another couple of grand. Instead today they are now £26,206 in total.

    Well done for that :)

But sticking to a budget is the way forward. What would make it easier? Can any of us help?
