Looking for a soup that tastes as nice as Heinz, without costing as much as Heinz.

Options
I love Heinz Cream of Tomato, and Cream of Chicken soups. But they are quite expensive (i do try to only get them when in a good offer though).
So, do you know of a cheaper alternative, but that tastes the same/similar?

Please don't tell me to make my own- i make pretty much everything from scratch, but just cant go through all the hassle of simmering for ages, then straining etc, when its only me that eats soup.

I know what you mean! I cook nearly everything from scratch, but some things are just not worth it.
Sorry cannot advise, I love Heinz tomato and I find it uncomparable. I got a lot on offer at Costco fortnight ago, 12 cans for £6. Sorry this won't help you much, but if you have a friend with Costco card they do it quite often.
I also quite like Waitrose's own, it's little sweeter but also nice.

Those are the two soups that I still buy! I make my own when it comes to any others, but I just can't make those two as good. I can make a very good tomato soup and a very good chicken soup, but they are not the same when I really fancy he!nz :D

Tesc0 do a very good own brand cream of tomato which I have converted to but I have yet to find a cream of chicken as good as he!nz.

I really like the Asda spicy tomato and lentil one it's delish. Having said that, not all soups need to simmer for ages. I make a tomato one out of passata and a jar of roasted peppers although they are not cheap. X

If you really like them, is it such an expense, assuming you don't have them every day...

Thanks for the help, and thanks Pink for moving my thread :)

It seems like Heinz is just uncomparable. I know it doesnt seem like much money, but i really need to bring my food budget down, and i get through about 4 tins a week.

99p shop had the really big tins of Heinz tomato yesterday. The 840 g Ones. They are normall £1.60 in Mr T. Think asda had them 2 for £1.50 but don't know if that's still on.

Heinz cream of tomato is the only tinned soup I buy usually but recently I bought the Crosse & Blackwell one from T's & didn't think it was bad - paler & not quite as much flavour but would buy again. I think it was £1.50 for a pack of 4 on offer.
