I know things are tight this month so it's not the ideal suggestion, but can you not get anything in the sales? At least 1 or 2 gifts to give you a head start while you think of what to do for the others? Or eb@y? A lot of people will have put their unwanted xmas gifts on and you might manage a bargain or two XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Thanks so much everyone for your replies.
PuzzCat - Thanks for replying - I have signed on to MYSurvery & Swagbucks and I REALLY ought to spend a little more time on them. I find the surveys really frustrating. They seem to ask me 30 questions and then claim that I don't fit their criteria or the survey is full. So WHY did they ask me 30 questions?. Always feels like a cop out.
Must try harder though.
MrBrightSide - Hi there. There are two birthdays in January, but looking forward into the year, it looks like there are on average 1 per month. So will just have to try and squeeze it into my spreadsheet. Frustrating though.
Wannabee - Handmade things from me always look better in my head than when they eventually turn out. Think I might make some soaps but plan on them being for us within the house. I think after I have made them, packaged them and made them pretty they will cost a fortune.:(. Thanks for all your help though.
PLMBL - I think this is the only way to sort it. Going to head into town this afternoon. Fat Face sometimes have big sales on their jewellery. Not sure if I could afford to stock up in January but I can hopefully get necklaces for the two whose birthdays are this week. Then maybe in FEbruary and beyond I can grab bargains when they are around. Thanks hun
Rising & Wannabee - I luuuuurve fudge. I must have a go at making it. Don't think they slimmer of my group would thank me for gifting it. But I love it xxxx
Thanks again everyone. Think I just need to try and find a couple of bargains in town. Wish me luck xxx0 -
Good luck with the bargain hunting Steph.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, perhaps you could put a hamper together? Im pretty sure ive seen a thread on the Old Style Thread a bit ago. Things like:
Pamper hamper,
DVD Hamper with DVD, popcorn and a bottle of coke or something?

Hmmmm Thats a pretty good idea Mummytogirls. Thats a nice way to personalise a present isn't it.
Will have a think about the different girls I have to buy for and see if I can come up with some cheap ideas
Thanks hun0 -
Hi again.
Just managed to sell an old stereo for a profit after postage of £40. Have arranged for Paypal to send me the money through so half of that should hopefully pay for the two presents I have to buy this afternoon and then £20 to add to my dismal looking account.
Really getting the Ebay bug now as that sale has gotten me out of a fix.
I am already plotting what other things I can sell.
:T0 -
Well, not a NSD for me as I had to go into town.
A few months ago, I did some modelling for a friend who owns a clothes boutique. She told me I had a £50 voucher in store to spend whenever I wanted.
Unfortunately I was so broke I could'nt afford the fuel into town and had left it so long I did'nt like to mention the voucher again to her.
Well.......I swallowed my pride this afternoon and popped in. I told her I was short of money this January and really needed to get two presents for friends. She sells jewellery that isn't majorly cheap but I managed to use my voucher to buy two necklaces for my friends.
I know it was sad to use the voucher on other people but at least it has saved me from spending any money :T:T:T.
I posted the stereo I had sold on Ebay and bought myself & hubby a 2013 diary off the Market for £1.50 each.
I then resisited all the lovely stuff for sale and came back home.
Phew........
So the money from the sale of the stereo can stay in my bank and not be spent on presents. Yipppeeeee.
Its amazing how better off you can be if you have no pride0 -
Hi hun,
I feel for you with the friends and I love some of the ideas that have come up....I haven't got a crafty bone in my body
Well done on the necklaces and the sale of the stereo.0 -
Wow, that's brilliant about the £50 vouchers from your friend! That'll be a weight off your mind about the present situation. Do you know any crafty people who you could 'swap' time with - what I mean is, if you know someone who makes their own jewellery, could you offer to babysit for them in return for a hand-made present for your friend? Or do you have any special - erh - talents that someone else might find useful...
Edit: Not recommending you prostitute yourself out LOL but are you a closet decorator, or plumber in your spare timeEmergency savings: £0 saved / £4000 target0 -
Fab news about the vouchers/presents. Ingenious! XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
