Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 22nd November 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning all,
Windy and wet here again.
bargainbird, thankyou for asking after dd. She is ok, struggling a bit. She was having the steroid injections in February but she is now having them on December 28th. They might not even work but she is prepared to try anything. Enoy your peace later.
My cold has really come out now. I have such an annoying tickly cough with it too. No work again for me today.
I will probably have a bit of a lazy day. Everywhere is tidy.
Dinner tonight is spag bol.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Good Morning BB and Moorhen and All Who Follow xx
Grumpy this morning as supposed to be doing a Patchwork Course but had a series of funny turns yesterday so have to stay at home:( I had sorted out some lovely bits of fabric that a very kind Hester sent to me - I will have to try and do it by myself but I need lots of guidance.
Think Kid's dad felt sorry for me though as he let Molly Dog sleep on my bed last night so found her here this morning doing her Nurse Molly routine. She is so sensitive and always cuddles up to those who are feeling poorly or under the weather.
Right cuppa and meds xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning All
An early one from me today, but I am an hour ahead of you:eek:
Sorry you cannot go to your course Molly
Glad you enjoyed your sleep BB you must have needed it.
I think the upstairs has half a promise of being done today, unless we are doing something different when DH gets up, he And Skye still snoring.
Got some mince out to thaw last night so that will go in the SC shortly. Will decide who to make it into later.
Take care all. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning all
I slept better last night, either it was quieter or I was so tired I slept through any noise.
Molly, sorry to hear you have to miss your course.
BB, enjoy your time to relax.
I should remain dry today whatever the weather as I'm on an indoor duty today.
Monnogran, my 'night of bliss' will have to wait 'til Friday as hubby is on late's & I start work early.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Cold here this morning, bur off to work / college for us all.
Dinner tonight will be something with chips and peas, will go and check my list in a while.
Tesco delivery tonight, and need to do a wash.
Took little dog to the vet last night for an ear infection, vet managed to look into it, and then put some stuff in it to clean it out, but the dog would not let her, so she has given it to me to do at home, £56 for someone to look into her ear  I would never begrudge the dog treatment, but does it have to be so expensive ??
Tappers hope Louie had a good night xx
Beemuzed how is DH getting on ? xxx
Have good days all xx0 -
RR at our vets consultation is now £30 just to see someone and then there's the cost of the drugs  Luna keeps being sick last few days. Her belly has been making some horrific sounds last night, gurgling and wind rolling round. I starved her yesterday after she puked up her breakfast last morning so will cautiously feed a bit this morning. I can see another trip looming to the vet if it carries on
she had to go during half term because she ate some poisonous berries. Ruddy Labradors
Anyway back to OS. Or notnot much going on. H is away overnight so cooking for one tonight. Kids are having sausage but not sure what I fancy
I have loads of cleaning and washing. House not been cleaning properly bar a cat lick since we started decorating so time to get it ship shape and tidy. Got to pop into town centre to pick up some things I ordered.
That's about for my plans today.
Molly sorry to hear about your funny turns xxx
Hugs and spoons all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Now getting light, its stopped raining (at last!) and is now very wet underfoot here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Dinner last night was pie, chips and beans/veg for the menfolk, I had jacket potato with tuna and mayo with salad. Tonight will be a bit disjointed as there is a careers evening at school for DS1, so me, DS1 and DS2 will eat early, then when DH gets in (we'll be at the school by then) he can do his own, he'll probably have egg and bacon.
I have a dental appointment this morning, not looking forward to it as dentist is quite rough, will see how I go if she hurts too much/is too rough I will be telling her. I have had this treatment before and know that it's uncomfortable but shouldn't be painful - will see how I go.
Was reasonably productive again yesterday, got the xmas puds made, and the prezzie wrapping done, managed to do washing, drying and ironing also, not all finished but getting there - wasn't helped yesterday by the fact that it rained heavily all day (TD is in the detached garage at the end of the garden!) - seems like it was the same for most of the country! Will endeavour to get the washing, drying and ironing done today, also will change the beds etc. Will write a list for shopping tomorrow and may do some baking/cooking - there's a few bits in the fridge that need using up.
Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x
