I have never asked for a certificate or been given one...just pleased they turn up and do the job.
And they mostly park up the road away from my house, and current charge is £66 for half an hours work.
    A racket.
Ken68 - if you are at the property when the gas safe engineer calls to carry out the annual gas safety check, then you should normally be asked to sign the CP12 and the engineer should give you a copy to keep. :)

Wywth....last year I rang the plumber who did it the year before, a landline number, left a message didn't get a message back, so waited a week, then rang another plumber, same thing landline number.Waited again.
Then rang a mobile number for another plumber, immediate answer round the next day.
No offer of a certificate and so relieved to get the job done didn't want to upset him for NEXT year.
Own property. Seems they use mobiles for casual work (easier to fiddle). No record no certificate no tax.

And also presumably not actually registered as GSR-did you check? If you are posting on here as a landlord, and you fail to supply the certification to your tenant within 28 days of entry, you could be liable to an unlimited fine and a custodial sentence, so I suggest you sort it out as a priority.
If you are not being supplied with a safety certificate, then what exactly are you paying £66 to Mr NoName for?
NB: a plumber is not even qualified to issue a Gas Safety Cert. You need a GSR RGI.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Sorry, I didn't realise this is your own property.

Is it one you (plan to) let out? If not, you don't need a Landlord's Gas Safety Certificate. ;)

If you do plan to let it out, then you will need one and if, as the Landlord, you were present, you would normally be asked to sign it and be given it there and then.
I don't understand why any LL would employ a gas safe registered engineer to provide them with a legally required CP12, and pay them, if they were not provided with what they ordered.
Not sure why you wouldn't demand a valid receipt too, as it is offsettable against your own tax liability as a LL.
  • Hi WYWTH

Im taking her to court over a deposit dispute, amongst other things shes claimed we have left the house unrentable yet in her evidence photos you can see a bed, clothes and other household items. Its a joke!!!

I called the HSE today, i spoke to a lovely lady who told me that i would need a freedom of information order to obtain the info i needed. But she did tell me that there was no signature from myself and they only require one current gas certificate and this may have been done after i left.

As the landlady has not included these supposed certificates that she claims to have im hoping that it is clear that shes the liar!!!

I have had a lot of people wanting to attend court with me its certainly going to be a day to remember!!!

It really does sound like it will a corker.

Please post where and when the court hearing will take place

Have you already warmed up the judge of the interest others have in attending and that therefore the hearing should be done in public?
  • Fingers crossed it goes in my favour!!

so are you a LL or a tenant or a private customer ??

why do you think it's easier to fiddle if you use a mobile ??
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Why would a private owner need a gas safety cert? And why would a tenant be paying the 'plumber' for one?
The OP has gone strangely quiet...

Yes this is confusing to me as well, finally worked it out, the original OP has been hijacked by Ken68.
